I didn’t say it’s changed for “normal” people

I said exactly that it wouldn’t / couldn’t change at the very start and that’s why it would be difficult.

can’t get away from the fact that it is now an uncontrolled border between the EU and the UK . That’s what’s changed about it.

It was never an eu border before.

it’s a moot point really , it is what it is, it was mainly in response to Bolty picking up on the demo in Dublin and how the UK has an open border with a place with loads of refugees which is the opposite of what Brexit was about ( for some)

I think that sums it up best.

You think it’s ok to have an uncontrolled border with the EU then?
Ok to have free  movement between the Eu and Uk?

some change in position but fair enough 👍

It wasn’t ever going to change, I knew that before Brexit and am very happy it hasn’t, in short before Brexit immigrants could wander in to NI from Ireland and it’s same after Brexit, that’s just how it is on the island of Ireland.

Dat's just how it is on da oirland of Oirland.

Great slogan.

Youre either numb as piss or numb as piss

Lets break this down, nice and slow

Do you realise that NI is WE?

WE should just give it back to Ireland.

I don't get the need for us to hang onto a divisive county full of crackpots and pisscans who could start an argument in an empty room

They're holding us back.

Let the paddies deal with it.

I know a lot of lads like to carry flags with Ulster on it, but they'll soon find another cause they can attach themselves to that has fuck all to do with them.

Maybe they can get all upset about the corn laws being repealed, something more relevant like that perhaps?

I think folk try to justify this curious attachment to Ulster by saying their grandparents were from there etc..

Mine were, but it's of no relevance to me in 2022.

As the Tory lads liked to say whenever Boris did a whoopsie - let's move on

Speaking of immigration.

"If I'm a 16 year old African orphan in a warzone who is being persecuted by their Government, and has a sibling legally residing in the UK. What safe and legal route is there for me to apply for asylum"

Yep, pwned by an MP in her own party.

Yes, you do realise no border for movement of people  can ever be constructed between NI & Ireland. It was same before Brexit and after Brexit…. Do you understand that or are you numb as piss.

Surely the answer there would be ask the sibling? He/she got in no problem.

The whole thing is a muddle for sure, and it needs sorting ASAP.

You’d think the sibling might be able to apply for them here in UK…. Not sure if that’s possible but that seems common sense way to do it.

He didn't say "and the sibling got in no problem". Maybe the sibling arrived illegally, and he's asking what LEGAL routes are available to the sister.

If the Tesco is in the right place the entrance may be in RoI and the exit in NI.

Surely the entrance and the exit are the same doors

Looks like Harold Shipman escaped and has been on the run

Does anyone know what the legal route is?

Now we are getting somewhere

Most legal routes have been shut down, then the heil, patel and braverman call those with no other option, illegal invaders

So, you voted for brexit to get control of our borders, knowing we could never get control of our borders

Fantastic

What would have been the legal routes? They can still apply for visas and get flights over here so I’m guessing that would be one way, same as most other countrys.

Fantastic

Not quite, voted to stop freedom of movement.

I presume you were happy with open border between NI and Eire before Brexit, what’s changed to make you unhappy after Brexit?

Could come live from the Blarney stone if they were trying to get an angle on it?

I am not sure there are any? Oh there was one in place for Afghanistan when we left in a hurry and there used to be a Syrian one too but not sure if that is still in place. Also the Ukraine one if you are sponsored.

Our local Tesco, they're actually separate doors, at opposite ends of the site. Both of the doors are still in Hertfordshire though 🙂

Fantastic

I think what he means to say is that he doesn't give a monkeys about EU folk easily crossing from  Republic of Ireland to NI...just as long as they don't make it across to the mainland

All these benefits

I can’t keep up
