The report does show that the 7th spot is achievable.

We’re at £224b

Need to add £140b

Acheivable, but that’s a 50% increase needed.

all the while, Italy will be growing too.

has to be the target, but needs a brave brave government. One that can focus on the task.

Way to much positivity on here for a Monday morning. Surely someone will be along soon to “debunk” it all

Give them 12 hours and tin that perhaps they'll find some old cock and bull.... usually a twitter repost from some FPBE fruitcake.

Here you go.😊

Aye.

On top of the Ellesmere Port announcement, some confidence.

Long way to go of course, but good news nonetheless.

Away from cars, some odd news over wind power, and no companies bidding during the latest auction. Apparently the price demanded is too low. This may be a cock up by the department responsible, and a certain brother had been quick to chide, perhaps with some justification.

Yet the same auctions yielded this:

Mixed news for sure, but strange how the brother didn't mention the bit above! 😁

Regarding the wind turbine the price demanded was too high. Think the government will reduce price and then there will be an uptake.

Possibly- on the face of it they will have to.

That said it is the manufacturing costs of the plant that is the issue, not the electricity production cost per se.

You'd expect those same manufacturing cost increases to be across all plant, including tidal equipment, so some disconnect there.

Perhaps the price offered to tidal companies is higher than that offered to wind, I don't know.

Jesus, you really are invested in Brexit. Economist disagrees with Neil's take on a story and she a FPBE fruitcake.

We could have done all these things as part of the EU. We could have had these benefits and still been in the single market so our economy would have been very healthy. Instead we have had to throw farming, fishing and other industries under the bus.

I don't give a fuck about Oxfordshire. What about Bolton? Where's our investment?

The government needed £75million to subsidise BMW, so there’s none left for the northern powerhouse

It shouldn’t really matter, Every post within the thread is available to check up on/cross reference.

Indeed it is

I saw the claim that heat pump sales in the UK are now subject to zero VAT whereas that wasn’t the case in the EU.

Well, that’s a lie. The EU don’t charge vat either.

Ive not checked any of the other claims. But it’s not a great start for Gully whatsisname.
