Their momentum is certainly showing no sign of abating despite the increased scrutiny and attention through the party conference season. Agree with others that criticising Reform will only increase their support.

Can’t see anything other than a choice between Reform and Labour at the next election. I’d imagine we’ll get tactical voting on both sides. Still reckon it all hinges on Labour stopping the boats & controlling migration before then. If they do then they could scrape back in. If not it’s PM Farage. If the latter is a disaster then it’s all on the “main” parties and not Reform voters. Not their fault that they thought they had no other option.

We shouldn’t all be voting around a single issue but that’s how it is.

Good post Bertie and well done with the highlighted bit. You've come around to it. Been apparent to me from the date of the first Trump election win and the Brexit referendum. Throwing around base insults only strengthens the cause you are trying to discredit.

Absolute fucking cabbages like Cheese must be encouraged to keep it up or preferably redouble their efforts.

This is why politics is falling apart though. People nail their colours to the mast of parties like Reform and then dig their heels, put their fingers in their ears and demonise anybody that doesn't agree with them. It's a poor state of affairs. I suppose all parties are guilty of that to a certain extent - but it seems more prevalent the more extreme the party goes.

I'm not sure is is about a single issue...

The Tories under Truss crashed the economy in a spectacular way.

Labour are doing the same under Starmer in a similar manner but this time it will be by a death of 1,000 cuts (literally).

The degree of disconnect between Starmer and the ordinary man in the street is quite staggering, he and the other parties should take note how Reform are simplifying communicating. Look at the other similar thread and how everyone is too wound up regarding defining racism and antisemitism rather than doing something positive about it.

If Reform do get in under the "Racist" ticket then I can't honestly see how they will make a bigger mess of the economy.

I forgot the LibDems... they could hold the balance of power, can't see how they would get into bed with Reform but they did something similar with the Tories!

The problem Starmer has got is that he's now a pantomime villain for some reason. So his face is toxic for the Labour Party. Personally - I think he'll do well given the chance - but I don't think he'll get the full term.

I imagine Andy Burnham will be leading then into the next election.

Brilliant listen this about politics today through the prism fiction and pop culture.

This is why I want those bloody boats stopped and (illegal) migration under control. Then we can have a proper debate about bread and butter policies (economy, health, education, defence etc) which really affect our lives…..and grill all parties on who could sort the mess out.  Immigration just skews all this in terms of voting intentions and runs the risk sending the country further backwards at the next election.

I am mellowing in my anti-Reform stance, in the context of let’s get immigration under control now, take that off the table, and then let’s see which party offers the best hope. My vote’s up for grabs atm.

Like Labour you mean?

What I find absolutely incredible is that if the Starmtrooper was to be hit by a U turning bus, David fucking Lammy would be the PM.

Just think about that for a moment. What ridiculous state is beyond a laughing stock? That's what we would be.

I don't think Labour are in the extremes are they? About as middle of the road as you could possibly hope for?

We already are a laughing stock. 15 years of ineptitude have seen to that. And if it was a choice between Lammy, Truss and Boris - I know who I'd be voting for! 😉

Agreed, the country really needs a breather... if that means leaving whatever human rights conventions or whatever for a couple of years so be it... we need to somehow turn these illegal law breakers around almost immediately as they arrive without "processing".

Then as you say, without this monkey on our backs we can debate what is important and start to putting things back together.

My views on Reform are mellowing, people say they don't have the expertise, but neither have any of the other parties.

Could it be worse than Dominic Raab?

PS... Deputy PM is title only, the Monarch would need to approve... thank fuck!

It would be nice if Reform had even the mildest scrutiny from the media. Polite questions about the Reform leader in Wales admitting accepting Russian bribes for a start.

Farage used to get paid by RT (Russia Today). They ended up banned by Ofcom for Russian government propaganda.

Labour shouldn't attack them for racism (it alienates people leaning toward them) and instead focus on Russia.

Depends which part of the Labour Party are you looking at.

Me too. It wouldn't be BLM Lammy, that's for fucking certain.

Long way to go yet. I have a strong suspicion that they will indeed have a recruiting drive prior to the next GE. Might not even need a drive. More likely the trickle becoming a torrent.

People with experience of 14 years of government. Whether 14 years of ineptitude or otherwise, people well versed in holding the levers of power.

Fantasia stuff doesn't interest me but on the highlighted bit, a kind request for you to shut the fuck up ;)

Much, much worse.

I suppose you're right if you're only looking at those people on the far left of the party

Maybe a Reform-Conservative coalition?

I can see that happening, as both sides will actually need each other

Or Labour Lib Dem of course. I could absolutely see that happening!
