Just saying what we already know!

Do you buy it, and if so, tell us how it takes the piss.

Bloody labour

Tackling the asylum issue. Listening to the electorate and dealing with stuff boringly. But slowly.

They should be busy doing communism and insisting that rich people are thrown into industrial mincing machines or something like that shouldn’t they?

It’s all words for now. But I have to admit it does seem promising & looks like it’ll lead to action.

They’re even suggesting something today that TMJ said they wouldn’t be willing to do.

Definitely pissing off some in their party

Time will tell whether it’s enough to hit the Reform vote. Think they’re not quite sure what to say to be honest. Which can only be a good thing

Eh?

Almost impossible.

Doesn't look like she will get the backing of her own mps.

How many are voting against?

If they do they're like Turkeys voting for Christmas.

The Tories and reform will look like they’re happy with the situation staying as it is if they vote against it.

They would argue that there are elements of it that no Labour Govt should consider.

I do not agree but can see their point. I think the point the dissenting Labour MPs miss is that the current system is broken and in no way helping genuine Asylum Seekers so it needs rebuilding. The details of how the safe routes will work and things like assessing their wealth will work.

It was funny how angry the Green woman got when the HS said they talk the talk but object to planning changes to build asylum property in their constituency.

Also it looked like dress down day in the HOC today so of the women were right scruffy twats.

Noticed the photo first. Pass.

Not a peep from our antipodean octogenarian about the plans.

The press making out everyone in SE will be hit by budget “mansion tax” . Presumably your house is valued more than £2M threshold being suggested?

There was also a suggestion that they could significantly increase council tax for bands G and H, which would hit more people, myself included (albeit by a lower amount).

You do realise the bands are set on house value in 1991?

You are Lord Smithills (and I claim my £5) if you had a house in Bolton worth £160k back then.

Yes, I live in London, rather than Bolton.

Oh I'm with you now.

I'm back up in Bolton these days - so I live in a northern hovel and am therefore exempt as my house is only worth 6p 😁

Would she walk across the House if that happened?

Has anyone said how many MP’s are rebelling?

The proposals seem to have been met with muted approval in general.
