Mounts, honest question, of which I hope you give an honest answer....

Do you still believe that we "hold all the cards" or not?

doesn't matter if you have changed your mind, but very few "leavers" will admit that things are more different now than they where 12 months ago

I've answered that recently, the answer is still yes, we don't have to play by their rules and to do so is crass stupidity.

I agree, we don't have to play by their rules, oppostite to you though, I think they hold all the cards, we have more to lose than them I reckon. eitherway, we should get something sorted as WTO would be shit for UK and EU.....but far shitter for UK

My view is we should carry out the threat to go to WTO, it won't suit us or the EU but it's the path we must travel down if we are to get the deal we require.

WTO would be fine

WTO would be fine

Go on then....why?

if it would be fine, why are the Government arsed about negotiating?

Very good question

Because they are being pressurised into it?

We are being too nice

then we need a new Government.....

as soon as the populace realise this, we'll have a revolution, I'm sure

We've chosen to leave because we don't like being told what to do........yet we're happy to have a a government who are easily bullied/pressured

Brilliant

What's the car of choice on the Costa Del Sol?

Bolty, as a fairly erudite chap who knows and likes his history, you might enjoy the book that I'm currently reading

D Day through German Eyes (book 2) by Holger Eckhertz

It's amazing to hear about the D Day landings from some of those in the German bunkers. Really interesting to hear their thoughts at the time on the war (massively brainwashed)

Highly recommended

Cheers mate. I will look it up.

Being brought up by my maternal grandparents, WW2 was a regular topic of discussion. When any movie related to WW2 came out (Guns of Navarone, Tobruk etc.) we were there with a bag of buttered brazils.

Sir Winston Churchill would still be my no.1 hero if pressed for an answer.

I know you'll say they're part of the empire but ANZAC, Canada and India did their bit to be fair.. Russia win us the war thankfully.

There's no arguing with any of that except the Russian bit. Having Hitler fighting on two fronts was massively important yes but Russia did not 'win us the war'.

His desire for lebensraum was all consuming and that's where he fucked up. If he would have directed all of his forces against us and then sought his lebensraum later I am fairly confident the result would have been different. Luckily his ego was bigger than NIC's and it all collapsed around him or fuck knows what the world would have become. Some sort of global Raqqa?

I love my history and for me the war was won on both the east and western fronts. Quite simply the Germans couldn't fight both fronts. The weather on the east fucked them and they couldn't beat us in the battle of Britain. Lots of colonial and polish support in the RAF for this. Brave men

Spot on. Correct on all counts.

History is always relevant. It's probably why we are where we are now.

Words of wisdom. Thank you for answering on my behalf.

If we hadn't reinvigorated Germany to the extent the free world did, they wouldn't be in a position to dominate again.

A concept too difficult for some to grasp it seems.

Neither side hold all the cards. That's plainly obvious and I'm not even sure where such a nonsense statement ever came from (would wager it would be a Remoaner though).

We do, however, hold some very significant cards. The trade imbalance with the EU is heavily in their favour. We have a nuclear deterrent.

Don't really need to go any further. Those are absolutely massive fucking aces.

How many of these timewarp Great Britainists drive German cars rather than stick with their British Leylands?

  I've seen some 'out of left field' comments on this Brexit subject but that is close to taking the trophy.

WTF has that got to do with anything? How many folk drive Japanese, US, French, Italian, Malaysian cars? Goes to relevance m'lud.

I'll give you one thing though, once the failed political experiment is finally fucked off, the 'Buy British' campaign should be reintroduced immediately.

Please think Pantherella.

You don’t seem to learn from it though.

What we needed was another Versailles :-)

Very nice part of the world. The parents live there.

Indeed.

Whereabouts?

A little village around the Jalon valley.

Spain promises "no disruption" for them. Which is nice.

Indeed. It's a shame our Government can't pull their fingers out and get things sorted this end. I have Italian in-laws who still don't know what the final position will be here.
