Staying put in the EU, although far from perfect, offers us economic stability. We have just come through financial turmoil since 2007 and now we have to chuck it all up and head into the another decade of uncertainty.

The 2 biggest crises to hit Europe in the last 10 years were caused by the increased federalisation of the EU; the Eurozone and the migrant influx.

Surely the global financial crisis is the biggest thing to hit Europe in the last ten years

The other two things are a result of that

That's a very reductive argument mate, like how some folk blamed every ill in the world on Tony Blair invading Iraq.

Probably true regarding the migrants but probably not with the Eurozone.

I'd still say the global financial crisis was a bigger issue than both Eurozone and Migrant crisis

I'd even put BREXIT ahead of them both as well

Greece, Portugal, Ireland needing bailouts is one thing but they are tiny cogs in the EU really

We are a heavyweight member deciding to can it, much greater issue IMO, depends how it pans out I suppose

Greece, and Italy weren't too far away, dropping out of the Eurozone would have caused the same chaos as the sub-prime business did.

Oh yes the EU is really stable at the moment isn't it.

I'd rather have that than walking into a complete unknown

It's frightening how scared you folk are, won't be long now before the talks start moving forward, the only thing jumping of any cliff will be the scared of your own shadow remainiacs, I think it's a genuine medical condition you guys have.

I'm not banking on him as it's first time I'd heard of him tonight.

Erm, I mentioned him last month.

He was also one of several respected economists I mentioned a week before the referendum who were saying that leaving was better than remaining.

Graeme Souness. Just been on radio five.

A staunch leaver- just gone up a bit in my estimation.

German coalition talks going to take weeks or months, so cannot be Scheuer of Germany's stance.

Haha.

In fairness he was pushed into it somewhat, but stated his belief and position well. He acknowledged others may feel differently but simply put his opinion in.

No doubt he'll get slated in some quarters, but it was quite refreshing for a well known figure just to be honest about something.

Shouldn't necessarily need to do so, but was interesting all the same.

his daughter looks better than him

I'd question whether he's well known.

Although he brought her up, Lauren Souness, who looks like pure filth btw, wasn't spawned by that Turk-loving jockish swine...

I'd question whether he's well known.

Best dressed pundit on TV (cue photos of him in a shell suit and perm).

Simple questions..

What follows a global financial crisis recession ?

What follows a major migrant migrant influx ?

Greater ease of access to shoddily made Kebabs?

I love how you say 'simple questions' and then pose two questions you could write a thesis on.

I think he's alluding to War but your right it could be a whole host of things

In which case, lets rip up our ties with our closest neighbors and bury our heads in our protectionist hands as that worked wonders last time

The thing is; the EU is protectionist!

The thing is; the EU is protectionist!

Protectionist only as far as trade goes not very protectionist towards citizens.
