It won't be the deal that you are hoping for Mounts as that will mean the EU will have conceded too much and that will simply not happen. This is not about Project Fear nor is it about doing my country down but it is all about applying common sense to the likely outcome when there is so much at risk. We hold the weaker position and the EU will play that to their advantage as they have done already

Free trade

control of our borders

Our own sovereignty

Out of EU

We've got 3 of the above already by leaving, only 1 to negotiate that's free trade deal and that will happen. What else do you think I'm hoping for?

We won't get free trade unless we give way on the 4 freedoms which scuppers the other 3 of your points in my view.

Are we actually that important to the EU?

I think we are pretty important, they would survive without us though, same as we would survive without them

We would survive but just be poorer because of it

We've got the 3 they can't do diddly squat about that. We're going round in circles again I say we will get free trade deal because it benefits the EU while you say we won't because they'll cut their nose off to spite their face, methinks you're wrong and that you have grossly overplayed the EUs hand from day one.

I've a golden glow just thinking about that. ????

I agree that we won't get complete free trade, there will be some sort of botch job done to sort it though I'm sure.......it just depends what damage is done in the several years it takes for both sides to see sense (let's not pretend it's all down to just the big bad EU that things aren't progressing, we're just as guilty for having imbeciles negotiating for us and being thoroughly ill prepared)

Do you really think we've imbeciles and ill prepared? I don't, my view is the EU just using that line to stall talks, the EU will move forward eventually we just need to be patient and play the staight bat.

The imbeciles bit is just a personal opinion....I'm mainly forming this opinion because every time I see Davis, he seems so weak and lilly livered.

Are we ill prepared.....even Jacob Rees-Mogg yesterday stated that no preparation was done prior to the vote, and that is why we are so under cooked at present. We're still not decided within our own Parliament about what we do or don't want, so I think it's not unreasonable to suggest that we aren't as prepared as we might like. Wait until critical votes start getting blocked in Parliament, then we'll look really shit, which is never a good thing when you are trying to negotiate

Not getting it through parliament is not a sign of being under prepared that's just in the main labour trying to make political gain. As for Davies being lily livered does not come across that way to me and if he was then we might be further forward and given away much more.

What about conservatives who vote against it? Wasn't it a bunch of conservatives who have just tabled a whole raft of amendments to the current draft bills? Can't blame that on Labour.

Yes, May's big problem is members of her own party, not Labour

Are we actually that important to the EU?

Yes.

Regardless of how you voted, the EU is a shitter set up without the UK

Do you recall 2005?

The Conservative leadership election boiled down to a shootout between Davis (the experienced favourite) and Cameron (the young thruster).

Davis gave an epic poor speech whereas Cameron was smooth and won the day.

Mount's, the EU will not under any circumstances give us a free trade deal. It simply will not happen. Why the fuck would they as it goes against the whole point of the EU.

That said, I do think we will eventually agree a deal of some sorts but it will frankly be a bit shit. Let's be honest, plenty of the nitty gritty is being dealt with by civil servants so will be a complete fuck up.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear just to avoid confusion my view is we will get a tariff free trade deal.

If they want to continue to trade with us at a large surplus, there's no chance unless it's a reasonable deal for both parties

So in other words a free trade deal?

Are we actually that important to the EU?

Go check the balance of trade pal and then daft questions won't be asked.

Mounts.

I'm an outer.

We won't get tariff free trade, without accepting free movement. Which we won't.

Because if we do, every Eastern European, every Southern European member of the Eu will want out on the same terms

the difference is, we hold all the cards

these other nations you mention, dont

We'll probably 'negotiate' access wherein we pay for the privilege - a sum probably in excess of the cost us paying rock n roll and housing for every glassback in Europe.

And we'll still allow anyone in anyway.

the difference is, we hold all the cards

Where did this stupid fucking statement come from? No doubt a Remoaner.
