Is that actually true? It was a convincing act he put on during the campaign.

It's true that he was, until fairly recently, a remainer.

Although, I do get the feeling that he would support which ever side he believes will assist him getting the top gig

Is that actually true? It was a convincing act he put on during the campaign.

He wrote two articles, one supporting Leave and the other Remain, and weighted up the balance.

This left him clear that Leave, for all its unknowns, was the proper path to take and so he submitted the Leave article for publication.

Having made his decision he was 100% committed.

As for Cameron, putting the issue to a referendum but making no plans for one result was a shameful act, unworthy of a PM.

It was political expedience, nothing else.

Or political suicide as it turned out. Expedience isn't an excuse for not getting it right.

This was political expediency for the nation’s benefit.

I’m sure it’s been posted on here before but isn’t he on a you tube video telling everyone the benefits of Turkey joining the EU

It was either that or he was trying to get us to join the Euro

I forget now

Although, let's be clear, this is BoJo we're talking about, so you can't trust a single word that comes out of his mouth

Common sense from the Germans

Kind of amusing to see them simultaniously threaten us with a shit Canadian style deal, whilst trying to convince the Canadians its a brilliant deal.

It becomes more apparent every day that they really are a bunch of charlatans and I cannot believe that folk still want to stay as part of the EU. If we stay in any way shape or form it will be an absolute disgrace. The EU through Barnier just angling for the longest transition deal possible and all because they just want to milk the British tax payer, it absolutely beggars belief that we continue to put up with this shoddy shower of European highwaymen.

I agree with that statement

They obviously still want our contributions for as long as possible, I can see an extended transition deal being agreed........and then it will be interesting to see how the public react. If they drag it on long enough, people will lose interest (as they are already doing), and we could end up with some real shit half in half out deal, which is worse than being fully one or the other IMO

I cannot see our government being so stupid, maybe I am giving them too much credit,  it really is becoming apparent what the EU is all about and as time goes by I am becoming more and more convinced (If that is possible) that unless they change it will all end in tears for them.

....I fear you might be doing mate. It's always going to be a problem when the people who are supposed to be negotiating for us to leave don't actually want to leave, and let's be honest, no matter what May says, she and most of her cronies would much rather that we stayed put

This is the bit I can't work out with you bud? I can't see why you'd think they would want to make this easy. It could open up a whole can of worms for them?

The EU are in  a strange position and I think it is a weakening position as folk all over Europe can see what game they are playing, I think their intransigence will be perceived as weakness and not a strength, pressure will grow to get the deal sorted, a punitive deal that would actually hurt the EU as well as the U.K. People jobs right across Europe are at stake and pressure will continue build from all sides to get the deal done and it will.

So you are agreeing that any deal we do to come out could hurt us and the rest of the EU and put jobs at risk across Europe ?

Of course it would I've never said not, what I have said from day 1 is a deal will be done that will prevent that outcome.

It won't be the deal that you are hoping for Mounts as that will mean the EU will have conceded too much and that will simply not happen. This is not about Project Fear nor is it about doing my country down but it is all about applying common sense to the likely outcome when there is so much at risk. We hold the weaker position and the EU will play that to their advantage as they have done already

Are we actually that important to the EU?
