Indeed. It's a shame our Government can't pull their fingers out and get things sorted this end. I have Italian in-laws who still don't know what the final position will be here.

They've made a decent offer, though.

I have an American daughter in-law who lives and works here and she doesn't worry about what the final position will be. Why should your in-laws?

She presumably has a US passport and is a US citizen (unless she became a British national)? Not sure how the EU position / Brexit would particularly concern a US citizen in the context of her rights to stay here.

My in-laws were quite concerned at the outset, when the initial position of the government was to say there was no guarantee they could stay. Now it’s quite clear they will be able to stay, they aren’t concerned.

Not going too well this Angela.

Sounds like he wants to stay in the EU

“He says he would not bring the Czech Republic in to the eurozone but he wants the country to stay in the EU, telling Reuters he would propose changes to the European Council on issues like food quality and a "solution to migration".”

Have a look how much they receive from the EU they'd be mad to leave however they're still voting in parties which are EU sceptic.

The shift right across the continent is less EU not more and it's no wonder as Germany seems to think it can dump refugees right across the eastern European states just because they are nett receivers of income and despite the will of the people.

EU politicians pressing for more EU intergration and a more federal Europe despite most countries wanting less.

It'd be interesting to see if the solution is passed on to those wanting to come in or if it's a plan to hold them all at the borders.

I'm guessing he means a final solution, from the wording.

According to German newspapers Theresa May has been pleading with Juncker in a private meeting. It could be bollocks but it is more evidence that we are sat with a hand of 13 in a game of pontoon whilst the EU banker is sticking on 20.

I have TM but the story has been dismissed as bollocks. The problem is in your post you say 'it could be bollocks' and then say 'it is more evidence'.

I get it does not help but say it is evidence is ironically bollocks.

If it is more evidence of anything, it is that the EU are not acting in good faith. Can that be a surprise to anyone?

Nothing meaningful is going to happen until the German government is confirmed following last month's election.

It may happen by December and it may not. Merkel will probably survive but not necessarily - her resignation may be a requirement of her coalition partners. After all, when she came to power in 2005 she had led the second party in the election but emerged as the coalition compromise candidate.

I don't think it should be a surprise to anybody, and I don't blame them at all to be honest, they have to try and protect themselves, if another major nation was to decide to leave, then the wheels really will come off.

Whilst we don't like it and it doesn't suit us, they should be doing all they can to fuck us over, they cannot be seen to be making it easy for us to leave, or everybody will be at it, that's why I fully expect us to end up with either no deal, or with a deal that involves us paying an ongoing fee to access to "free trade"

I can't see a situation where we get all the benefits, without paying anything in, that really doesn't make any sense

I'd think she will be saying if you don't start talking about trade soon then it won't be me your talking too it could be Bojo.

Yes poorly phrased by me. What I meant was, if there is any truth in this account it does not look good for our side of the negotiations. However, as it seems to have been dismissed as tittle tattle I will go with bollocks.

I'd think she will be saying if you don't start talking about trade soon then it won't be me your talking too it could be Bojo.

Then we would be fucked if that buffoon takes over talks.

Is that actually true? It was a convincing act he put on during the campaign.
