any team can get relegated

if we were 20 points clear, the price would go up

theres very little to sp[end on the ground/facilities and we are one very good season from a 100 million windfgall

thats the potential

think it’s more than 100m tbh, I see your points and really hope someone would pitch up really do

It's not really a windfall as you have to spend that and more to stay up... Three always go down and end up financially crippled. Nailed on.

Not if you dont go bonkers - look at Burnley.

Sign players on sensible contracts

dont forget parachute payments

and if players wont sign 'sensible contracts' that's when the fun begins

i do feel that there is so much money swilling about now, that clubs can make money

club of our size? We are an average sized club at the best, as for future potential there’s a good chance we will be a league 1 team next year. Much better placed clubs for a takeover than us imo

73 years in the top flight, 13th on the all time English table, and currently 4th biggest ever record attendance, of teams currently in the Championship.

4 FA Cups, Football League Founder, Modern state of the art ground with excellent transportation facilities

We might be shit at the moment, but we are not an average club, at least in the top 6 biggest in the league.

Therefore, if Wigan can get foreign investment, why can’t we?

And any football fan of the last 15 years will know what Bolton Wanderers are capable of.

Players like Okocha, Speed, Hierro, Anelka. Etc.

Top 8 finishes, and European football with on occasion, 27/28k crowds.

That is what potential is, and we are sale for dirt cheap at 25m, there’s got to be some interest there.

i think he means top 6 in the league we are in

bollocks, imo

not that it means a toss

we have still got a lot of attractiveness for investors to look at today.

Correct, which is why there is a massive queue of Billionaires lining up to buy us

We lost money in each of those seasons - good investment possibilities.

Seen all them bullshit tables all over Facebook on groups get so many points for major trophies years in top flight etc.

If you put that in theory Blackburn have won top league 3 times and six fa cups but are they bigger than us?

Posted

It’s not really irrelevant is it, in terms of debating whether we are an average sized club

its irrelevant in terms of investors

big club/small club has been done to death and it means nowt

Posted

Bournemouth are a shit small club with little or no history to speak of. Didn't stop them being taken over.

(Cue malc with some stat how they won the south coast cup in 1897)

A Chinese investor won't give two shits whether we scored the first league goal or hosted a pie final or not. They want potential returns.

Even Ken says thew historical stats are irrelevant to our current situation.

Yes, we won the Cup 4 times. We won't win it this season and come next May, it'll be 60yrs since we won it.

Posted

Let’s be proud of our history and use it as motivation towards our future.

We’ve had a shit 5 years, but if we can stay up and consolidate as a solid championship team.

Then you have to say big investment will be inevitable.

There is a lot of clubs getting taken over at the moment, and we will need it to compete on the other side of the Championship.

or a play thing

I remember years ago, people said that they would be worried if we got taken over by foreign investors, as we could be in the shit if they got bored and dropped us..........it's better to have a "local lad" own the club who won't get bored...that ended well didn't it  :)
