Aye......Alf can only play in a 2 up front ( he's no target man & can't play out wide ) & when we play with 2 up front, our midfield & then our defence are overrun, & we get clobbered

I've been the biggest Madine critic but what's he supposed to do with aimless balls in his general direction

I criticised him for being a pussy and mentally weak but for me he's sorted that out over the summer

We ain't getting better lads

Madine is the only striker we have who can hold the ball up

You drop madine you have change the formation and for the first time in months it’s kind of working

Apart from last week how many clear cut chances has he had?

Like I said earlier vela and Armstrong were guiltily of bad misses today

Bolton 0

QPR 0

Storm Brian 1

In one. Only one winner today and that was Brian.

2 strikers for me that I can't believe call themselves strikers. Armstrong and madine are effing toothless and never look like scoring,

Played for a 1-0 win second half and came a cropper.

Chipping away with the points though, fourth bottom will feel like promotion come th'end of season.

Reckon the pies and chicken botherers are coming back up, extra incentive to stay up.

Madine has been brilliant for me. And I do not like him

Shit weather shit match

Considering we’ve played more teams in the bottom half than the top, then our points total is a massive concern.

Last couple of weeks have given a glimmer and made use of the two home games.

Now for two tricky away games

We shaded it 1st half & deserved the lead but 2nd half, especially after the substitutions, we struggled a bit.

The mighty heavy pitch didn't help us with the likes of Ameobi, Vela & Henry still looking for full fitness & in the end, a draw was probably about right.

MOM ..Beevers

We've played all season virtually without our 2 most creative and dynamic players we've played Hull, Leeds, Boro, Derby, Sheffield U, Sheff W, Ipswich, Villa and Bristol who all won't be far off the top I think it's from here on in that matters and it's not a lost cause yet.

Madine is in the team to hold the ball up. Set up the goal today. I remember folk moaning about SKD not scoring enough goals and needing to replace him to get to the 'next level' when we were sixth in the Prem.

Well yes, but at that point we were sixth in the Prem, so it was quite obviously effective.

If we'd have been bottom of the league, having recently gone through one of the longest goal droughts in our history, even sensible people might have questioned whether SKD was worth his place.

I'd keep things as they are for now, but I'm puzzled by the idea that Madine is the first name on the teamsheet.

Shit weather shit match

I'd go with the first part - but I thought it was a good game. Blood and thunder played at a pace - give me that any day of the week.

Matter of opinion

Was just going to mention those possession stats

Utter bumchuffery

Passing it around in your own box at 1 0 down

Fan fucking tastic

Maybe its ok cos the centre backs go wide at goal kicks or something

I agree, it's ok spending 3 or 4 minutes tippy tapping about in your own half following a goalkick short to a defender who then passes around the back four or back to the keeper and THEN round the back four and back to the keeper.

Talking of their keeper, we were in West Stand and thus he had his back to us shortly after he received the throw in and ended up booting it in a panic. Was he giveing the patrons of the ESL the bird for giving him stick?

Anyway, after the floods of either biblical or Zenit St Petersburg proportions, I thought it was a reasonable result. Football was never going to be a great spectator sport with two inches of water on the surface.

By the way. Special mention for Alnwick today - his handling was very good in that weather and he made a worldy in the second half. Gordon Banksesque

I thought he made some big saves but I also thought he fucked up for their goal. His reaction immediately after seemed to confirm this. I thought he should have got in front of the big number 40 before he had the chance to do anything with the cross.

Matter of opinion

Aye it is.

I thought it was bloody terrible :D

Really don't get this ALF thing. At least give him 15 ffs.

Tbh Alf doesn't fit into Parkys hit it long and hope tactics, wouldn't be surprised if he's gone in January!

That’s a defender’s job. No keeper in the league would have come for that ball.

Besides, 99 times out of 100 that half-arsed flick of the heel doesn’t come off and we scrape a 1-0.

A fluke.

Another issue with Alf is he isn’t going to come on and skin 3 people.

He’s hardly going to stretch teams

If we aren’t creating clear chances in the first place then bringing Alf on isn’t going to change that.

Like I said earlier vela and Armstrong were guiltily of bad misses today

Defender got a foot in on Armstrong to nick it past for a corner - he might have taken it a fraction earlier but harsh to call it a bad miss.

Josh’s was a stinker.

just watched highlights this morning yes was a bit harsh of me on Armstrong tbh good tackle

Don’t think vela realised how much time he had

Vela & Ameobi had poor games & the subs did no better all the others did ok point gained Wheater mom.
