Not gonna find much talent in there. :)

I would scout for free, we’re in the top central lancs league, one of our lads trialed at Everton ones trialling with sheff U both are massive Bolton fans, both LH lads and the Bolton scouts supping in the Albion probably know both, whether they’ve seen them play I don’t know but both are worth a look one of them scored 60 goals for us in couple of seasons and the other is still trialling with Sheff U and both play for the Salford town team.

if Bolton asked they’d both crawl over broken glass to have a chance at BWFC.

Bolton scouts will be watching these lads play for the town team mate.

A Man City scout was down at Moss Bank Juniors back in October looking at the U7's and U14's. Suspect if you've got it, the bigger clubs will snap you up.

this is not a criticism, just an observation but ive never seen a bolton scout in preston (which covers chorley teams). maybe our scouts just dont travel that far? maybe thats for good reason? or maybe we just havent crossed paths?

and there are "preston" lads being picked up left, right and centre for manure, city, rovers and burnley.

and maybe im just being selfish, as my lad wants to play for bolton, so he's turned down all the above.

You have a PM mate.

One thing I can guarantee mate, not 1 player at Moss Bank U14's is anywhere near acad level....and even A section level in the Bolton Bury JFL.

But Moss bank are a superb club, and I recon it was John Howarth that was down watching....he used to head up BWFC scouting.

Not sure how to phrase this; I don't want to come across as being arsey, as I haven't read the whole comments. Is SJM et al arguing that there are few scouts active in BBDFL? Or that youth isn't being given a chance? FWIW, the article highlights the good work the academy are doing, but its being measured during a period where we couldn't bring in anyone into the first team because of an embargo. It also suggests the emphasis of scouting is within the older age groups- whether that is a deliberate policy to prevent 'bigger' clubs cherry picking the talent nurtured by the academy as they turn 14 or not I don't know. I know there are kids from as far as Skem playing for the u10s, but few scouts are out and about in the BBDFL at the same age. Are there equally capable kids playing in BBDFL that are then picked up by Wigan, Preston, Burnley etc?

I'm not picking holes, just trying to understand and offer some perspective.

I can't see anyone as answered your question so here is an explanation from me.

At the Forum held last week John McGinlay gave an impassioned speech about how bad the manager, team and youth set up was in his opinion and underlined his point by claiming that the club had NO scouts, scouting in or around Bolton leagues whatsoever and thus allowing all the other teams the freedom to pick whoever they wanted in and around Bolton for their own academies.

It was of course believed by everyone there (including Iles who had only written a feature article a few months previously in the paper as to how our academy was considered to be the second best in the country!) and used as just another example of why Anderson should leave the club forthwith and added that bit more towards the hatred by most it seems now towards him.

Are the rumours true there was a big game of soggy biscuit after the forum?

One thing King Ken didn’t lie about is Bonnars late night pissed up tweets. He’s jumped right into one of my nets tonight :)

Haha loving it! I think he’s been on the super strength tonight.

My lads team are in the semi of his age groups cup comp. originally the final was being held at the ED Academy (along with younger groups) and older ages were being played at the ground

been told this morning the club have advised the league they can’t afford to cover both sites with staff for a few hours so they’re all being played at the ground. But the league have to cover the additional cost for the extra hours a few staff will be there

it’s good for the kids but Jesus there’s skint and then there’s that..

Some of our spotty kids think it's just a game

I can almost forgive kids, it's the fully grown adults that have me shaking my head

Yep I agree

going back to the protest slightly of last week, yes there were loads of kids part of it demanding change and like you say they have no idea what they were actually asking for and the impact. Whilst the reasons for what they were doing were misguided to say the least I couldn’t really knock them for coming out and doing something

an adult with any modicum of common sense who spouts out about admin etc shouldn’t be allowed out alone
