The folk who say they can't afford it, generally drink, smoke, do coke etc etc. The cost is just another excuse.

Gartside (RIP) has gone, so has Lee/Megson/Coyle/Freedman/Lennon, so ticket prices are the new cop out.

 

People moan when Ken's trying to run the club as a business, but will moan if we go bust.

In general I would agree with you but this is Burton at the worst time of the year for crowds they have no fans so nothing to be gained by high prices in this case. I’d of made it £15 all round ground and £1 for kids.

Agreed. Could perhaps have a bit of a Christmas theme- something to interest kids, maybe a bag of sweets upon entry, or whatever. Just try something to make it a bit different.

Maybe even give tickets out to schools, rather have a few kids buying refreshments on a free seat than an empty one.

That’s fair enough but why then charge £30 for a seat in east lower, wouldn’t £15 -£20 for this one game be sensible pricing?

Ken just needs to get his head around the fact.

 

However, I do think the cost of football in the lower leagues needs to be looked at, in some ways similar to what has happened to away prices in the prem.

How can it be more to watch your team away in the championship, than in the prem ??

 

Should be something like £30 prem, £25 championship, £20 league 1 and £15 league 2

Then when you add on petrol, parking, half-time pint and a pie your'e getting upto £40 for just the basics, and youv'e only been out of the house for a couple of hours.

I admit I have several pints, and maybe a pie before the game, but its not compulsory - I can jump on one of the macron buses for £4 return, and all I need to find is the price of my ticket - Get to Red Lion 4 Lane Ends or Brinsop at Walkden (or various other places) and get a ticket for £10 in Upper tier - Total cost £14.00 - Who says footballs too expensive

Meaning a much lower gate and difficulties for away fans coming a long distance at night.

This comes up on a regular basis. Our crowds will only increase if we are pushing for promotion or back in the premier league. Without the former, our crowds will always be in between 13,000 and 16,000 as an average over a season, and new pricing, gimmicks etc will never change that
