March 4, 20188 yr Totally agree. So, how many of our players would get a gig elsewhere in this league Bearng in mind they're pretty much all unwanted when We get them We have a way of playing, battling, and it usually gets us something at home but most teams have better players than us
March 4, 20188 yr So, how many of our players would get a gig elsewhere in this league Bearng in mind they're pretty much all unwanted when We get them We have a way of playing, battling, and it usually gets us something at home but most teams have better players than us I think a few of the teams with smaller budgets would love an ameobi or ALF at the moment. Millwall wanted be Evers in the summer. I think Alnwick would be wanted by most currently. Vela (amazingly) always seems to be sniffed around. It’s a very difficult question to answer though. I’d not of believed anyone wanted to pay 6m for madine but there you go. These are not a bad bunch and we have proof of that in terms of they give (since October) most teams a game now. If you do your homework you can pick up unwanted or injury prone players and turn them in to a team at the level we are at. I’ve said it a few times but on paper we are not partvof the 3 worst teams
March 4, 20188 yr I might agree with the last line but sunderland have probably got players 'better' than us We are a fair bit worse than an on form Preston, though Which is why we lost My biggest issue is folk who suggest our defenders trying to burst the ball with every kick is the managers preferred way to stay up For me, Preston did a job on us yesterday in horrible conditions The lead flattered us and though we could've gone 2 up, they were better for 95% of the game Edited March 4, 20188 yr by Casino
March 4, 20188 yr Preston had done their homework and used the exact same tactic that Fulham did when they caused us the most trouble - get the ball over the top of our defence or into the space in the channels as soon as you can and make them face their own goal, each one of the 3 shits themselves when they’re in that position. They are so bad on the ball its embarrassing, IMO if you have 3 at the back then one needs to be Burke, just to add a little bit of pace and some composure on the ball. The lack of possession starts at the back, they have no intention of having the ball but there is also a lack of ball players ahead of them. Generally if 1 of the midfield drops to take the ball off them, say Karacan then there is only really Ameobi ahead of him that will take the ball, Pratley, Henry and Vela aren’t good enough on the ball/rarely show for it, the striker is covered by a number of defenders and the wing backs are on their own out wide because there’s no midfielder ahead of them - therefore it usually ends up back with the centre backs who end up launching it. There’s also the issue that as soon as there is any sort of pressure on them they panic like mad and just clear the lines. I’m still not convinced that 3 at the back works for us - it seems to be the way that we have had to accommodate the loss of Madine and therefore get 2 up front but it causes more problems than it solves. You can tell within the 1st 10 minutes with Ameobi whether he will be brilliant or shit, it usually sets the tone and he very rarely goes on to play well if he starts the game badly - as someone else has said it’s usually the cold/wet days where he has his poor games. If Kirchoff is fit then I think we could use Pratley higher up the pitch - he’s got the energy to get up and support a lone striker and adds height further up the pitch too. The big question is who is the 1 up front - I think ALF has the best movement and can actually use his body to cause the defence the most problems, he’s also the best option for a chance to fall to so I’d go with him and give him a run of 3 or 4 games. We’re not going to completely change the way we play at this stage of the season but I do think that we could improve with a few tweaks, against Reading I’d go with Little Wheater Burke Robinson Henry Kirchoff Ameobi Pratley Morais ALF Absolutely spot on. Plenty of analysis in that from a fan sat in the stands with no coaching badges.

Time after time a centre back or midfielder would get rid under no pressure.

We did nothing but hoof it. Yes they pressed but kicking it to them puts us under even more pressure
March 4, 20188 yr Hoof ball and not leaving anyone up for their corner is underdog football, we are communicating that we aren't as good as the other fella. Yes, I understand that survival is everything and we are scrambling up towards safey, but I'd love us to at least try some football. We might lose, but we lost anyway yesterday. Our only change is to go more and more hoofball.
March 4, 20188 yr You have an issue with it but it must be instructed. We did nothing but hoof it. Yes they pressed but kicking it to them puts us under even more pressure I don't disagree with the last bit The odd time a defender tried to hold the ball, they took it off him Only Morais in that back 5 can kick a ball Coming back to my earlier question re demand for our players, it's telling that they didn't leave in January KA will sell owt that moves
March 4, 20188 yr Happy enough to accept a bad day at the office and move on but it seems to be strange how he plays the same way despite having different players.

Stam would have seen how Preston played against our 3-5-2 and they will play the same so change it Parky. Doubt he will though.
March 4, 20188 yr Just had. Preston fan ring me who I met a party last week, he’s husband of wife’s friend basically gloated about their incredible support said the Macron was a library, gloated about their players and how good they are and that they’d bought them for next to nowt. I said enjoy your day in the sun we will see you next year to take our revenge, been up in Chorley 20 years first time I’ve heard a peep from a PNE fan. I now look forward to them failing to get in the play offs and us stuffing them next season.

See what their incredible support amount to on Tuesday against brizzle about 11k I'd estimate. Tinpot!!
March 4, 20188 yr They brought similar to what we took to Deepdale on a Friday night that was live on Sky when in the bottom 3

Always had an odd following. Also a club who seem to unashamedly adopt a 2 team support. Not worth mithering about bud

Not worth mithering about bud Honestly only met the bloke once phone rang and he said Shaun Maguire here, I hadn’t a clue who he was or Shaun Maguire ????They seem to fancy themselves at the moment I’m looking forward to next season and normal service being resumed. His phone number been carefully noted, for future fun n games. ???? Edited March 4, 20188 yr by Mounts Kipper
March 4, 20188 yr A PNE fan had a bit of banter with me walking across the hotel car park. Taking the piss that they're now the club on the up. He was smiling until I reminded him that we won 3-0 in the game that REALLY mattered and which got us 11 years in the Premier League. He decided not to carry on with his bants!
March 4, 20188 yr Preston will be buzzing with this, and will pack out the Deepdale in their next home match with the standard 11,000 fans

March 4, 20188 yr Funny how nomarks like Preston could never make it to Burnden but are brave little soldiers when the coaches & train station are next to the ground.
March 4, 20188 yr Funny how nomarks like Preston could never make it to Burnden but are brave little soldiers when the coaches & train station are next to the ground. We pay the price for being completely shite at home in the off the field activity stakes. As long as no fucker can be arsed making a ten minute taxi journey the more teams like Preston come and take the piss.
March 4, 20188 yr The tide of yoof coming over the grass bank to run over the road to the train station looked like Green Street meets Saving Private Ryan. The Napajiri jacket looked especially popular
