Wanderers 1-3 Preston

Gazing a little bit further down the line here, but what do you learned folk think the chances are of them re-arranging the home game against Preston on March 3?

Bearing in mind they've already moved Boro v Leeds to the Friday night and Wolves v Reading to Saturday evening so Sky/EFL have had a rummage through that weekend's fixtures already... but could our game still be moved for police advice, how late did they leave it in advance of the away game before moving it?

For me biggest game of season this. Win this and all those bottom teams will shit their pants as they’ll realise we’re staying up. Couldn’t be more proud of players and manager for sticking together a

Walker was no worse than le fonder

Shit but no worse than alf

Issue today was no midfield and no madine

And going to 442 exposing dervite to real pace

Your having a laugh.

Walker looked like a little boy playing with big lads

Be glad if he didn’t make another appearance again

If you're playing with a system that needs a target man - play a target man - even if your target man isn't very good.

just not that target man he’s not for that role, completely the wrong signing

Feel for Walker, he was making the right runs in the channels initially but lost heart when were just flighting it forward and putting him in an aerial battle with the centre backs, and he doesn’t strike me as the type to bollock his team mates for not giving him any decent service.

Never likely to get anything when Dervite, Wheater and Beevers all pretty much put in their worst performances of the season.

No idea how Vela managed to avoid being dragged off. Offered absolutely nothing all afternoon, and it was certainly one of Ameobi’s more disinterested performances, though you can understand why he is kept on the field just in case he has a flash of inspiration.

We’re still in a much better position than at least three clubs and that’s all that matters at this stage. The time to panic will be if we lose the next two.

Not walkers fault he's not a hold up centre forward unfortunately doesn't fit Parkys launch it long football so my question is wtf did Parky sign him!

Him and Clough were panic buys

If we hadnt brought anyone in with the sale of Madine going through the moaners would have gone mad

If you're still playing a system that needs a target man but you sold your target man in January and a month later haven't figured it out yet...

We’ve gone a goal up and sat back for the rest of the game, on so many occasions this season.

Today we finally get punished for it.

We won’t pull away from relegation with keeping the ball like we did today.

Very very poor tactically, Dervite exposed as a right back, Walker up front, sitting back, no pressing, relying on Wilbraham for a goal of the bench.

Need to move on from this and get something at Reading, fans turned up today despite the freezing weather, but the players didn’t.

I don't think Wilbraham was the wrong form signing. I can see the logic in it at the time. Come on for the last 10 minutes to replace Madine. At the moment - it's Walker who seems like a bizarre signing - unless we were planning on changing our tactics.

About walker and le fondre?

Did Parky want him or is he one of Lee's?

agree very bizarre

Bad day at the office.

Outplayed for the most part + we can't hold the ball for more than 10 seconds.

Ameobi had a 'mare and Dervite wasn't far behind him.

Next

Playing Dervite right back and leaving Flanagan out of the aquad screams clueless to me.

I'm not sure what Madine would have offered today. It's not like our aimless hoofs were anywhere near Walker and he was struggling. He got one high ball in the first half played within 5 yards of him.

You can’t begin to even compare Walker with Le Fondre the gulf between them in ability and effort is off the scale.

Henry and Little back next week which should improve things. Surprise point at Norwich nullified by home defeat today so we are pretty much where we expected to be points wise. Two big aways to come!

Doubt Vela touched the ball more than a dozen times in 94 minutes.

Neither of em touched the ball

Think last time Alf touched the ball was his goal against fulham

He was dogshit today. Had a great chance to create something when he found himself away on the left wing with plenty of time first half but utterly messed it up.

I would go 4-5-1 at Reading cram midfield with Henry pratley and kirchoff Morias and amoebi play Alf up front just don't lose.

A very poor performance today. Dervite poor and lacking pace in Preston 1st 2 goals. Odd choice to start walker and Sammy in the middle as a 2 and persevere with that failing experiment for far too long. Kischoff looked decent. Pratley had a good game. PNE best team by miles. Need something on Tuesday night. No random bingo machine selections please?

Blimey, we have a rocket scientist on board.

One of them made the effort to get on the end of the ball and it wasn’t the young lad.
