well, nearly 48 hours after the event and Adrenalin is still running through me. randomly looked at my watch yesterday and it was ten past two and i just thought "fuck me this time yesterday i was going absolutely bananas" and the feeling i got again was unbelievable!

 

ive become more accepting of our results over the last few years, if we won great, lost? not the end of the world. Even previous relegation's and last years promotion, i was quite level headed. The minute i walked in the ground on Sunday and my arse went. never been that nervous at a football match for as long as i can remember

 

the kind of game you see on television but are never involved in. the scenes in and around me when the first but more so the 3rd went in will live with me forever.

 

our fans / ground has come in for some criticism since our move for lack of atmosphere. Well, sunday made up for all that. its what we follow football for. pandemonium

about 95 times with radio manc commentry

 

and about 324 times with just crowd noise.

I thought he'd played six minutes, but the soccer saturday clock showed he blew up 20 seconds early!

 

We were knackered and so deep, it was horrible. But I thought if I don't look its not happening. Worked well.

Junior marple had it on the stop watch and he did play about 15-20 seconds under the 5 minutes.

 

Still agony though, it took sooooooooooooooooooo long.

when that ball came in for their lad with the over head kick i thought he was going to control and side volley. When it popped up and he attempted the over head i knew he was missing

 

the 25 yard rocket that flew in to Wheaters chest was the one i was worried about. once it hit him i knew we had done it

Henry was a large part of goals 1 and 3 but this seems understandably to have been overlooked with the plaudits given elsewhere

 

Howard could have done better with their first, and I was worried that he didn’t look arsed but his distribution is/was v good. Wouldn’t surprise me if he picked Henry out for the third

Was in the LOV on Saturday. Watched the first half in the stand and the second at the open doors in the LOV.

Most of the young staff had no idea about football or the drama of the day.

What they thought of someone my age running from the doors through the suite like a maniac I’ll probably never know!

As for those 5 minutes added on, I didn't watch a minute of them was sat down whilst everyone else around me were stood up.  The last time I felt so sick with nerves was the injury time at Old Trafford for our 2-1 win

Apart from being asleep i don't think I have stopped singing or humming the Wilbraham song since the game ended. Just got asked to be quiet in the office by a fat bitch who said she now has the song in her head!
