Just sent it you zico.

It won’t let me post picture on here. It was screenshot of a Wigan instagram jobby via ukfirms or summet

Next question, why?

Was it in case we went down and they could say something about it being their only visit to the macron in the near future, or something?

If not I don't get it

If so, tough shit

We all know we are in complete different league, size wise to Wigan.

Much bigger than Preston, Burnley and Blackpool. Probs similar to Blackburn.

What did Wigan average this year as champions, 8k? Didn’t we average 15k?

Wigan are just an annoying little brother that won’t leave you alone.

That’s why most of us Bolton fans hate them now. Let the rivalry continue I say, makes it much more satisfying when we beat them.

As much as I hate th bastards, I do miss a game against them. Rather play Wigan, than Reading, Norwich, Ipswich etc.

We have 5 domestic trophies, Burnley 3.

We’ve spent 73 years in the top flight, they’ve spent 54.

Their highest average attendance since the 1980s was 20.5k ours was 27k

you could argue they won top league twice, imo no different between us

I’d have us down as bang on the same as Burnley to be honest.

And probably Blackburn.

All bigger than Preston and Blackpool though.

Wigan are fuck all.

They'll be one of the very few sets of away fans who come into Bolton town centre before/after the game ballooning, regardless of whether we think they're tinpot or not.

Yeah you could say that.

We’ve got a decent amount of honours at this club, but somehow for a club our size, we’ve never won the league.

I saw a stat the other day, that said we’ve spent more seasons in the top flight than anyone else, without winning the league.

Yeah I agree, I think support wise, we are probably the biggest Lancashire team.

Burnley only average more because they are in the prem, we’d easily beat their 20k gates if we returned.

If both us and Burnly were same league similar level we would be fair bit bigger.

you could also say if it’s honours based Blackburn would have their knobs out

By what measure? Their average attendance is over 20,500 in a ground with 22,000 capacity.

In our last premiership season we averaged 21,400 in a bigger stadium with (I think) more away capacity.

Seems pretty much the same to me.

You could also say that we were relegated that season.

And Burnley are currently looking at their highest ever prem finish currently.

When we finished in Europe like Burnley, we averaged near 27k in 2004.

But we do have a much bigger stadium, think theirs only holds around 21/22k ours is about 28/29k.

So there’s loads of different ways of looking.

For now they are bigger, as any prem team is due to the revenue. Historically we beat them.

we had a few seasons of 25k+ averages at our PL peak which is where Burnley are now so if you're arsed about crowds we can pull in more, but we have a bigger ground

they averaged just under 16.8k when they got promoted, we averaged 17.3k this season

bigger ground, bigger away end - but fair to say we have the potential to pull in bigger crowds, but it's always been like that as far as I can remember (i.e. 1992 onwards)

Burnley will not be arsed about any of this right now

That more to do with them being thick though

I think its fluid. Clubs grow and wane. And not always directly linked to success either. Wigan's growth will have undoubtedly cost us some fans. Equally I'm sure Blackburn and ourselves benefited from relative success amongst Lancashire teams in the mid-90's to mid-noughties. Our attendances this season are certainly higher than they'd have been in a similar position in the early 90s as a result.

I'd say we're around the same as Burnley and Blackburn. All big town clubs. Similar pull in terms of attendances. We have the best ground of the three, but probably have a little more direct competition for fanbase given where we are compared to the other two. That is fairly marginal though.

The question you should be asking is who gives a fuck about who is a bigger club

Burnley miles ahead of us both on and off the pitch at the moment and that's what really matters.

Not sure you can go off domestic trophies either since it's been 60 years since either won anything, hardly relevant since soon there won't be anyone around who can remember that
