May 23, 20188 yr i dont think 24million is the whole picture with them[/quote probably I don’t know what sort of package they paid for the manager]
May 23, 20188 yr Also isn't some mega agent involved in the ownership of the club and has been able to attract his clients to wolves such as that Neves lad? Jorge Mendes, who is apparently one of these "Super Agents" - I think he has Cristiano Ronaldo as one of his clients
May 23, 20188 yr Jorge Mendes, who is apparently one of these "Super Agents" - I think he has Cristiano Ronaldo as one of his clients don't be a pillock, super agent works for bwfc
May 23, 20188 yr In fairness Derby were falling just short for a long time, not just last season! i know. thats why i wrote: However, if Stoke turn in to a Derby ie always falling short
May 23, 20188 yr correct they spent a fair packet but also got 12m for afobe back. But that takes their spending since the new owners came in to nearly £60M. In a season and a half. How many seasons would you have to total up for us to get to 60M? 20?
May 23, 20188 yr But that takes their spending since the new owners came in to nearly £60M. In a season and a half. How many seasons would you have to total up for us to get to 60M? 20? I’m not on about us, just making comment that derby and wolves have spent very similar and wolves have the golden egg now, derby on the other hand have a big wage bill to contend
May 23, 20188 yr I’m not on about us, just making comment that derby and wolves have spent very similar and wolves have the golden egg now, derby on the other hand have a big wage bill to contend Yep. Its a huge risk spending to go up. For lots of reasons. Still crazy how much Wolves spent, in a season and a half they spent enough money to buy 3 or 4 championship clubs outright combined!
May 23, 20188 yr Mendes works the market very cleverly he has a huge number of players under his wing, particularly Portuguese players. In his view, if they are sat at clubs for more than 2-3 years they arent making him any money. When Neville went in to Valencia Mendes was tied in there with that Peter Lim. So the players on his books (from Porto, Benfica etc) were loaned to Valencia with the condition that they bought them for over inflated costs the season after if it proved a success. Thats how Rodrigo ended up there. if it doesnt work they go somewhere else. same prinicple at Wolves albeit slightly different as i think they commited to the fees there and then which a large portion goes back in to the club anyway via Mendes. If Wolves hadnt of gone up those players wouldve been off pretty sharpish Edited May 23, 20188 yr by barrycowdrill

May 23, 20188 yr totally agree, also at the other end Birmingham invest 17m and stay up by 5 points its crazy Spending money doesn't guarantee success, but it greatly increases the prospect of success.
May 23, 20188 yr With every penny spent the sense of satisfaction reduces ever so slightly. I'll go with that. At the moment quite happy with ken's live within your means policy. OK may be taking a while to balance out but it's going the right way.
May 23, 20188 yr Frank lampard favourite to take over at Derby Edit Maybe not Edited May 23, 20188 yr by gonzo
May 23, 20188 yr I'm giggling in anticipation of what you may have written and I don't know why really.
May 24, 20188 yr Re : Wolves' spending, Neves for £15m looks good business. It’s better business than Derik for free
May 24, 20188 yr Frank lampard favourite to take over at Derby Its exactly the sort of daft appointment I would expect them to make. His first job, way too big for him and the club has massive (overly-ambitious) expectations. Could well be his only ever job if he takes it on and fails. Al la John Barnes....
May 24, 20188 yr Only thing big about derby is their home crowds They finished 6th in the league table and had the 5th biggest crowd, so there's nothing remarkable there.Sunderland's pile of shit pulled in bigger crowds than Derby
