Are you all still assuming Howard was telling the truth all the time?

Me?

No.

That's why I've always referred to what was said as 'narrative' or 'story'.

I've enjoyed it non the less though.

Sammy Lee was a useless twat as manager. Saw him in the spread eagle on a Wednesday night with the whole squad, they were all arseholed. Funnily enough we lost on the Saturday.

I thought there were signs before he got canned that he was starting to get somewhere with the change of style, but the crowd had started to turn and that was that. In retrospect he maybe tried to change too much too quickly.

No, I know your stance on it. There's a handful on here not completely mesmerised by the temporary visitor.

I shall put this as simply as I can:

Regardless of those being the most important things to remember, it doesn't mean that there haven't been plenty of other figures and statements thrown around - which makes it confusing.

As I said - Howard mentioned Bassini offering 2 million to delay the share recall. He also said this wasn't enough to persuade his men, but 12 million would be. Those are the figures he quoted for the compensation package. 2 million and 12 million. At no point can I recall Howard saying that they'd accept 8 million, feel free to prove me wrong.

Your 8 million figure relates to how much that debt was initially worth, which in my mind was separate figure to the 2 million and 12 million Howard mentioned.

Now, can we move on from this because this is possibly the most tedious conversation on the whole forum and I don't wish to bore everyone.

Now that I've gone to the trouble of explaining the £8m share ownership debt amount, and the 14 day notice period, that you revisit my posts which you found so difficult to understand earlier today and re-read them.

You will see I quite clearly talk about the £8m share debt being redeemed in full OR a payment made in consideration of deferring the 14 day notice.

There is no ambiguity at all about it.

It certainly isn't my fault that you seemed to have completely failed to understand the whole structure of Howards narrative, despite his many constant explanations of it over the weeks he was here.

I asked where the 8 million figure came from. That is a one sentence answer, you could've just said "8 million being the value of the moonshift debt."

Not sure why you are determined to continue this discussion.

You answered me.

I've said thanks.

What more do you want? A written apology? Because you're not getting one. It's your choice to write a mini-essay for something that requires a short answer, it is therefore my choice to not re-read your posts for the sake of justifying your points.

I do not block or ignore people online as I find it petty, but should you seek another response on this topic, you will not get one from me.

Looking at Howards bid (details bottom of 392) we should get behind that, it's the only bid we've seen with people that have a proven track record and the money to back it up. Remembering that we have basically no say in the matter. Whilst being deeply skeptical of the Bassini bid, for multiple reasons, we should give him a chance, should his purchase go through.

Whatever owner we end up with it's clear there's alot of work to do, especially given we've only got 8 players signed up to play next season atm.

To be honest Sammy Lee didn't haven't much time in charge, neither did Jimmy Phillips.

As for the others they had time in charge but achieved absolutely nothing.

I deliberately didn't mention Phillips but Sammy Lee had enough time for the board to see he wasn't up to the job.

If anyone still thinks Howard’s mob stand any remote chance of getting in they want their heads testing

they are not arsed. That’s why she’s fucked off.

If the acquisition was sooo attractive they had ample opportunity to bomb Bassini and his mystical money out of the water. Yet it got to the point where she was talking about them receiving money to back away

yes £2m is a lot of money in our cotton mill world. But ‘their’ world of deep pockets, bankrolling a football club to promotion etc it’s absolutely fuck all

I’m not saying they weren’t interested but they didn’t want to do the hard yards to get us. I said the other day, unless their names above the door, everything else is just bollocks

And where are they now? Our witted by Ken & ran for the hills. Tyre kickers of the highest order

Spot on. Putting it in to context, we paid a similar amount for Danny Shittu to make 10 appearances for us.

If it hadn't been for Howard, how many of us would have had any inkling of the extent to which Ken Anderson seems to have put his family's financial wellbeing at risk in keeping BWFC afloat whilst the hunt for a more lasting solution to the club's financial diffficulties continued?

Is that what Howard intended, whilst weaving his little web? Probably not.

Will he be bothered? Probably not

And that assumes the story was true. Parts of it may have been, but it was put out there for a reason. And who knows what that is and which bits were accurate.

If that's the key point you have taken from Howard you are Ken Anderson and I'll have my five pounds.

Super Kevin Davies should've been binned off by Coyle but he didn't have the bollocks

Then Davies and his media savvy wife played the media

This. The failure to take tough decisions when we first came down has led directly to where we are now.
