Much preferred the tetleys 

Plus landlord was a big Wednesday fan and used to get players drinking in there

Iirc, the lever bridge became a Vaux pub after it was sold. It was wank, fortunately wards was an alternative and was decent.

West End on Glossop Road was the tetleys one. The wards one escapes me

Newquay Steam in pop top bottles (grolsch styles).

When I worked in Newquay in 76 for the holiday season, it was Tuborg Lager in the pubs what was called Steam, some innovator picked upon the word and started producing his own brand.

These ales using the citra hops to make them grapefruity etc are masking the fact that it's not great beer.

Looked after properly, you can't beat traditional real ale.

Or maybe tastes change from generation to generation and people of a certain age don't want to embrace that

I drink both so am happy either way.

I'm a great fan of traditional ales, but new styles are always worth exploring.

Not all flavours will be liked by everyone, but don't mind a bit of experimentation.

I'm keen on the history of very traditional drinks, mead and fruit meads for example. I want to brew some more, my last mead has been approved by a fellow poster for example, but doubt everyone would like it! Trouble is honey is bloody expensive to experiment with.

Me and my lad are about to put on some kiwi fruit wine. Always fancied trying it, dunno what it will be like, but I'll never know if I don't.

Get a few days in Cork or Limerick (Or anywhere in Southern end of ROI. Murphys is a miles better stout than Guinness.

As a Guinness drinker  I agree to a degree.
If you can get a good pint of Guinness and it’s been looked after with the lines and temperature and it’s not watery or gassy then nothing compares but it’s finding a boozer that does this, Murphys across the board is usually pretty good, but I’d still take a good pint of Guinness over a good pint of Murphys

Problem is that all the decent Guinness line cleaners have fooked off

They're left with a load of retards

For those going to Sheffield Saturday who like Guinness find time to go to the grapes and thank me later. 

Sells more Guinness than any pub in the UK I was told and it’s a fantastic pint 

 

How the fuck can you spoil Guinness? It is stored in a keg therefore just needs the usual clean lines and correct temp.

We aren't talking about cask ales here, Guinness is no different to John Smiths Smooth, Carling or Strongbow to keep.
