That was one of the loveliest things to ever happen. Stood in my garden sobbing like a baby! Proud to work for the NHS 👏👏👏👏❤️

Daughter had a temperature and headache on Saturday evening, and this carried on to Sunday, booked a test and by the time the test came around, headaches gone, just left with a sore throat. She hasn't been out for a week, just at home with me aside from one trip to Tesco earlier that day and a walk to drop a bag off at A and E that morning.

Did the swab test and it came away with blood on it, and looked in her mouth and its swollen like crazy. Rang 111 and they have advised that it sounds like a viral throat infection aka nothing they can do.

Problem is now that I've done the test on her we have to wait in to get results back. She;s been bouncing around not a care in the world today, no temp, no headache. Test done at 10am Monday, no result as of yet, I can't return to work and I can't drop off anything for my missus at hospital either.

Seems odd that as some point the self isolation rules will be dropped, as once people are vaccined up, and a large chunk have had it, they won't have to isolate for 10 days.

I would assume Students taking exams in this January window will be going into College/School as normal, we sent emails to the parent of lower and upper 6th today, there will be an update tomorrow due to this evenings announcement, but we are carrying on as normal for those taking exams....

However, I have heard tonight that some centres are pulling their January exams, some Heads/Principals are making that decision for their centres, you should receive confirmation early tomorrow with regards to how they are going ahead, if Kids have studied towards them, they may as well take them... imo.

You may be interested to know, this exam is going ahead, school is shut and they were told stay home this morning rather than the planned prep work lesson but to come in tomorrow for the exam 👍

Had the online stuff through from daughters primary tonight.

Got to give them massive credit, they’ve got loads of lessons planned live - 3 hours every day, clear layout and well structured.

Really impressed.

Sounds like shes at daughters school

Shes not, but similar plan

This South African variant of Covid is making me nervous.

Hopefully it's not as bad as they think it could be.

Not only are lessons online but teachers & TAs are looking after key worker kids and are in school every day,  putting themselves and their families at risk and without being priority for vaccinations,  can the numpties now stop slagging off teaching staff.

I’ve never had a pop at teachers.

Except when they’re running round the Trafford centre on “strike” days.

I just think that altering the calendar should be possible, especially this year.

Not asking them to work a minute more than usual. Not one.

The teacher this morning is tackling all sorts and is doing a brilliant job.

Not having a go at you, just a general comment and usually from furloughed folk in their slippers while teaching staff are on the front line day in day out. I wouldn’t do their job for all the tea in China.

How they stay calm with 30 kids is beyond me

Did we ever establish who or what a "foot soldier" is? - I'd like to know if I'm one or or not

You’re not. You sit in your ivory tower pushing a few keys on your ergonomic keyboard. That’s not a foot soldier. I believe , but I could be wrong , a foot soldier is somebody who gets in their car and drives to work goes through the front door and pushes a few keys there instead and then drives home. 😁

im sure I will be corrected if I’m wrong.

you are like me are lazy scum with no risk of infection or harm in the eyes of the real foot soldiers.

plus you live and work south of knutsford so are over privileged southern scum as well remember.

All true and very valid points.

So in reality....................Foot Solders = Peasants 🙂

I'm joking by the way, I'm glad I'm lucky enough to be able to WFH at the minute. I'd love to be able to get back out and visit customers and suppliers again though, sadly that won't be happening until Q3 at the earliest though I wouldn't have thought

I only managed 23k miles last year cos of lockdown. Luckily I’ve still been able to visit some of my clients but the rest have been moved to virtual meetings.

I can’t wait to be bombing up and down the motorway and regular nights away from Home building up the loyalty points. Business isn’t the same not done face to face. It’s a bit shit.

Correct

And I'm with you on the loyalty points......I usually stay away a minimum of 10 times a month, so have missed out on points worth at least 10 "free" hotel stays
