Its where I'm at, enough is enough now, horrible things, make them a choice not mandatory.

Reckon once everyone has been offered the choice of a vaccine then maybe they'll be given the choice of mask

Kids don't have to wear masks in this country, inside or out?  It is very odd that happens over there outside especially.

Also, he talks shite about folk saying masks "working good" but misunderstanding they are there to help stop you spreading covid not to prevent you catching it.

The thick hillbilly has either had too many knocks to the head or was born in a hick town in the arse end of Arkansas.

Kids are wearing a mask in school for 6 hours a day, the Government didn't make it mandatory for schools to do so, but left it upto the school, hence every Head of school in the country has implemented it because they felt they had no choice, probable parent complaints being the main reason.

Just because you don't agree with him, doesn't mean he is thick, he has an opinion and one I'm inclined to agree with, especially now that the numbers are low across the board. If that makes me thick, so be it.

He was talking about young kids, not secondary school age or whatever they call them in the US.

Masks are for the prevention of spreading, this has been clear for ages, well before covid bit we just aren't used to it over here.

He is thick because he clearly doesn't listen to or understand basic advice from his Government departments on disease control.

On the mask wearing outside, if true, then I agree with him.

For me, mask wearing in supermarkets and crowded indoor spaces could be a good idea going forward, less coughs and colds for one.

It's a farce, because its recommended not enforced.. if i kid refuses we can't do anything,  if a kid causes a major hazard .. we can't do anything..

These 25p masks that don't fit a kid are doing fook all. They're having twice weekly tests, then being told to wear a mask all day. Its causing more behaviour issues than you could imagine when teacher's try to enforce it.

There us a tik tok trend where kids use a mask string to cut a chair, within days 100s of chairs damaged!

Roll on 19th May (iirc) when they get dropped.

Not sure why folk are het up over masks, as has been said in supermarkets and other places I've no problem with them.

Two youngest don't wear them in school and my eldest is fine with it as you have enough breaks in the day to take them off.

It is helps stop the spread, fine with me as we saw the Kent variant go right through my eldest school in about 14 days, every kid had it!

I'd be happy to keep them.going - especially when I'm back in the office and on the tube/crowded trains.

That's a problem with the kids though, not the masks.

Too many twats.

Anyway, looking at this article, it seems it was a government decision, not one for head teachers to make.

To me, why the fuck would any person want to wear one of them things off their own bat.

When this is all over you can keep wearing yours if you want to, thats your call and I won't have a problem with it, as long as you mask wearers don't have a problem with me not wearing one.

Because it stops (or rather helps stop the spread of) illnesses? I'm sick of getting a stinking cold first sign of autumn because of overcrowded tubes etc

Just it seems like it might be a decent thing to carry on with in certain spaces, be interesting to see if culturally things have changed with it, doubt it though. Like I say, I've no issue with it.

I've a mate who smokes and always gets colds, he's like Typhoid Mary - he'll pop around full of a 'not-contagious' cold and it'll be nailed on colds all round within a few days...

Similarly like above, folk sneezing and schnozz-blowing on trains, buses etc.

And the selfish twat of selfish twats, the twat who goes to the gym to 'sweat out' a cold.

The bloke who posted the UFC fighter's press conference is another tinfoil hatted twat, complete with stupid dashcam monologues...

He makes some Da Vinci code conclusion over the 'flu figures last winter.

Obviously this wasn't owt to do with folk wearing masks and a greater uptake than usual for the 'flu vaccine.

Years ago I used to think those in the Far East were m0ngs wearing masks, until it was pointed out it was done altruistically to prevent spread rather than prophylatically.

Fair play.

If people are that uncomfortable then those visors are cheaply and widely available now.

Not one cold last winter.

Not one week of feeling like shit and plodding on out of necessity, probably spreading it.

Yep.

Precisely why I asked before if folk would consider doing it as part of a societal change. Not government led, just a bit of science and some oriental altruism.

Not that bad wearing them neither, though I guess if you're used to wearing various forms of ppe for work, it becomes more normal.

Rumours of an early ending to lockdown up here. Would be most welcomed potential announcement today

I will get my very best painting clobber on 8 pints and a bag and drive home

@Spidersame up here with regards to folk being sent all over the shop for vaccination.

Don't ring your GP

Let them do GP things

Post brought to you by Mrs C

I actually rang for an appointment for something else yesterday and was told they could potentially fit me in by summer.

The chances of me ringing them to sort anything immediate out are zero.

It’s worrying how many people on social media still claim a mask won’t stop you catching it 🤦‍♂️ I don’t think anyone has said wearing a  mask will stop you catching it. Even when you explain to them that’s it’s to help reduce the spread they still can’t grasp it.
