Bernie Eccleston better watch himself

Ireland closing down schools, events and public gatherings.

The UK do not seem likely to do that. Strategy here is to let everyone get it over a period of time to build up herd immunity. This will work IF immunity lasts long enough - I hope that they have enough evidence for that.

3 months immunity (for example the standard for a coronavirus cold) would put peak back to December again.....

Is that not a bit of a gamble?

It is as an open strategy. The issue is whether you can actually stop it - chances are you cannot. But there is a risk if we pile up cases and deaths and say close neighbours Ireland don't that we will be pilloried. Sometimes you have to be seen to take action even if it isn't necessarily always the most logical thing to do.

The big risk is that if you get 3/4 months immunity only our approach means next winter could be carnage again. Whereas slowing it right down over a long period like Ireland are trying IF you can do it may mean your peak is really flattened out.

Hard to say which is right but the flak our government will take if they get it wrong will be grater than ever before. We're now an outlier compared to most of our peers. I'd be copying South Korea personally.

Everyone breathes way over his head

Washing my hands a few times a day, hand gel every couple of hours... Then remember I've barely even wiped the surface of my phone clean in the 20 odd months I've owned it...

scenario

thick as fuck girl goes to doctors, who send her to hospital who tell her to self isolate

she says shes showing the symptoms

her child has recently spent time with her ex partner

child has no symptoms - not unreasonable

ex partner works for me and has no symptoms

ex partner works with 10 lads

You’d like to think the world can get a vaccine sorted by next winter if push comes to shove

Granted the virus might mutate, but then again the winter flu virus does and the vaccine changes every year to tackle it

Get through 2020 and the world will be in a much better place to take on round 2 IMO

No vaccine will be available by November or December. Governments have been saying this.

Get them to call 111 and let them decide

Alternatively, install Netflix in the brew room and start a new box set

Get on with it - if any shows any symptoms then self isolate.

Is what I reckon advice will be.

Nah villa have been shite all season

Probably Liverpool as there's no other explanation for losing a European game under the lights at anfield

Levy / Mourinho could be at it, hoping 2 weeks’ fixtures can be postponed until Kane is back.

thing is right

I ended up getting fair pissed last night on some strong cans, ended up having a couple of cigs

today I have flu like symptoms and a cough - but I'm pretty sure it's as a result last night, and is actually a hangover

but after listening to radio 5 most of the morning, I'm getting a bit anxious

I've got a PT session later, so that along with a stint in the sauna should hopefully sort me out

but a gym and a sauna aren't the best places to be going right now

I will though, I'm brave and will solider on

but if I still feel rough tomorrow, I may have made some poor choices today

Seriously don't risk other people now. Not worth it. For all you know they may have elderly relatives with health issues.

Don't take unnecessary risks. Especially with those symptoms.

Caught it off villa.😂

Dutch league postponed now. Premier league are merely delaying the inevitable it would seem 😊

Just heard the sturgeon has stopped gatherings over 500 people.

Presumably, that stops the SPL, but maybe not the leagues...

only if Celtic or Rangers are playing, nobody else watches the other shit

I’m going to a 90th birthday party on Sunday

100 people in a room for a sit down meal and mingle

Mainly 70-80+

Could be a bloodbath in 2 weeks but they don’t seem to care. They will still rock up expecting treatment at A&E if / when they get ill though
