Bollocks.

Good to see relevant bods giving explanations and answering questions.

Being told to go home look after yourself and not even test you ? Sounds like doing fuck all to me

Mum's care home closing to visitors as of tonight. Gonna pop and see her, might save me a few quid on mother's day!

What’s point in testing people with mild symptoms? If you get to point where you are bad you go to hospital or GP. Like normal.

Testing people a bit pointless now.

Despite that being the correct thing to do according to another expert interviewed immediately after.

Having all the experts modelling the correct time to up the ante seems like doing a lot.

Preparing the NHS also doing stuff.

It's clear to see, if you want to.

So our experts know better than Ireland’s?

“Have a week off”

Thats it. That’s just it.

Bolsonaro (president of Brazil) confirmed to have coronavirus

Perhaps Ireland is closer to the right time. Perhaps Ireland's health system is less resilient; a term that Boris used to describe Scotland's decision to go further, earlier.

Each nation will have its own peculiarities and maybe the who and all the experts come up with models to suit.

Or maybe our experts are better than Ireland's- closing schools now or in a couple of weeks or so doesn't give any indication of ability does it?

Think you just want a moan Mick.

Watching the press conference. General gist seems to be ‘we’re doing fuck all now, good luck’

What job do you do Mick ? Are any folk showing any symptoms etc ?

I've still not seen a single person wearing a mask other than a couple of Japanese students going to the student village on Thynne St but they always wear them, so they're not included.

Leaking roofs are apparently a new breeding ground for it......I'm going to clean up on this fucker 😉

End of the day we will all be able to see who has the right approach. Politically if we’ve done the wrong thing it’s over for Boris and he knows it.

Just out of interest, who would folk on here say have the best medical people going ?

The point I’m making is that we seem to be doing the exact opposite of the countries that look to have turned the tide- extensive testing, contact tracing, social distancing.

We’re basically saying, you’re all gonna get it, good luck, try not to give it to your gran.

And I’m moaning, I’m entitled to a fucking voice pal, like it or not. If you don’t you can always do what our resident bellend down under did and block the fuck out of me.

The argument is that nobody can stop it. And no country has. Everyone is trying to slow it. But peak is likely 10 weeks away or more here. If you closed schools now they’d need to be closed for 16 weeks to make any sense of doing so.

16 weeks. How’s that gonna work? What about nurses and doctors with kids? It’s a reasonable argument.

No worries fella, was just trying to gauge if folk from different industries and occupations have seen different reactions to the outbreak.

Quite possibly.

However any mp that starts to make this into a political issue runs the risk of alienating themselves and their party.

We’re behind the curve, we’ve got relatively few deaths and cases,  got to trust the experts to make right call at the right time.

Of course you're entitled to a voice, but if that voice still offers the same moans then my voice is entitled to challenge it.

We're in a really challenging time and one which is going to need people to listen to the medical advice and do as asked.

Whether it's the right thing to do, no one can be entirely sure, so it's even more imperative to listen to those who will know more than others.

The evidence was presented. Made sense. Just get on with it.

I mean public trust is over beyond any political point scoring. I think what they say makes sense. But if bodies pile up more here than elsewhere then it won’t matter what experts we used. Just the way it is. I think we are getting it right. Experts aren’t dressing anything up. Which is good.

Overall death rate is 1% or below they say.
