Don’t you think we know when politicians are telling lies/mistruths/misinformation or fudging? Course we do, when it really matters and when the opportunity arises they’ll pay at the ballot box, you can then hope that the Labour Party get in power and don’t lie like they did in the gulf war(something that did matter)

How many uk citizens died in the gulf war ?

Sometimes you have to cut your losses - even if he believes that Cummings is telling the truth, and if he thinks he didn't beak the rules,  he's clearly causing a distraction,  wasting precious time and weakening the message  - the death rate has gone up today  - higher than it was last Wednesday - thats what we should be talking about - why has it gone up - is it a blip, or something else?

Way, way out of his depths, what a joke we have for a leader.

Does he actually read what’s in those red boxes?

It’s not great this is it?

a cynic might think cummings has created the distraction deliberately

Exactly, that’s why it’s time to move on and concentrate on what is important.

Love it on Five Live - some folk think these are questions by reporters!

So you’ve no problem with politicians bullshitting for 5 years, because they then get the chance to uber bullshit before us mugs vote for  them again?

Same for both parties, as the old punks used to say doesn’t matter who you vote for the government always gets in.

We should be talking about that, we've gone past Italy (even though that'll apparently never happen) and we're quickly catching Spain, which is a real worry. I noticed earlier that Sweden are zooming up the charts as well, and it was only a few weeks ago some in the press were saying how well they had handled things by not having a proper lockdown

Imo it’s not plausible. He doesn’t make the rules. That is clear. He clearly doesn’t make the rules.

My brain works in this way. we can go round in circles about this or agree to disagree upto you

circles, agreements, I'm easy

but, and don't take this the wrong way, it comes across (to me) like a pedant tory apologist (which you say you're not) to suggest he doesn't make the rules he was breaking

he plays a huge part in the messaging and guidelines that are delivered, so he knew better than most (i.e. the rest of the population) what he could and couldn't do

anyway

leave it there if you want

Perspective for you, Stephen Kinnock, Labour MP (not an advisor), apparently broke lockdown rules, the media didn't spend 5 minutes reporting about his incident. This has been going on 5 days, for what? because the press hate this guy and for what he has done or achieved or because he went for a drive in lockdown,(cue the 'it was more than a drive') does that really warrant 5 fucking days of shamolic shit media coverage, it doesn't in my book.

But if you wanna keep banging on about it, i suppose your free to do so, but to me its all bullshit just like you said.

Suppose I must have a lower tolerance to bullshit than you.

Kinnock hasn’t had the machinery of Government kick in to bullshit for him. For a fucking advisor? At a fucking time like this? The whole thing is fucked.

I said right at the start of this whole bag of shit that I feared we’d fuck it up. And haven’t we just? In fucking spades.

Tin pot, third world country that we are.

I take things very literally. Annoys the fuck out of my missus.

he doesn’t make the rules 😁. He’s is part of a group that advises them to the government for ratification? Anyway it’s not important. I just get fixated on incorrect stuff like this as you can see

ive said he was wrong said he should go. Media are starting to boil my piss over it however

Boris is on another level. You could've pulled someone in off the street and they'd been able to have a better go at giving a specific answer to any of these questions.

179 soldiers did, plus thousands of poor Iraqis......and we know whose lies took us there.

I don't know if it's been mentioned but there's a hospital down south (I think) which stopped taking new admissions because they had so many payients in with coronavirus symptoms. There was some (possible baseless) speculation that the increase might've been a result of the VE Day celebrations.
