Life’s not fair sadly. Rules are the rules. And the WHO don’t run the UK.

im looking forward to my UK holiday in 4 weeks time. And foreign holiday later in the year currently with two weeks Quarantine afterwards. I know the risks. It’s my choice to go or not. Simple

And that's exactly the point I was making last night, it's totally unfair. Anyway mate you make sure you enjoy your holidays wherever they are.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying I agree with it cos I don’t know the reasoning behind it. It would appear knee jerk but they’ve been criticized for not reacting and this is now why we are where we are and too far the opposite way potentially. Whole things a mess

and cheers enjoy the sunshine you jammy get👍🏼

I don’t know how much choice she gets in this. She can say we’re not allowing folk in but I get the impression she can’t say they are Letting folk in if that makes sense. It’s such a mess

I cannot imagine friday she releases it and then Saturday by choice enforces it again

He’s 100% right, not sure who’s made this blanket quarantine call but seems illogical to me.

Why is it illogical?

Cases are rising in Spain - you don’t know for sure where everyone arriving back has been - so they ask for quarantine.

No one is saying you can’t go.

Because 14 regions out of 17 have lower levels of infection than the U.K.  I could spend a fortnight in Blackburn and don’t have to quarantine. It makes sense to me to quarantine folk who’ve been to areas with high infections rates.

It’s nothing to do with Blackburn.

Just go on your holiday and ignore the quarantine request like every other fucker will

It’s not going to affect me, I’m still going. I was the first to call out the sending back of Covid patients to care homes..... that didn’t affect me either.... not yet anyhow. 😂

It might seem heavy handed, but you can't expect the government/sage to be breaking nations down region by region. It would take a lot of resources and the further in you focus the more opportunity to travel between places.

These places have also seen a sudden rise in cases too, which will ring alarm bells.

So you think our government should spend a load of time deciding which individuals flying back from Spain should quarantine?

Bear in mind some people fly to certain airports before hiring a car and driving a long distance to their destination? (Flights being rare & expensive right now).

You’re annoyed because it directly affects you. Simple.

Anyway, you voted for them. Suck it up.

I don’t think it’s difficult to just enforce quarantine on folk who’ve been to high infection rate areas, seems easier to me than attempting to enforce for the whole of Spain.

It doesn’t affect me, I’m not fussed, just pointing out it is illogical.

So how should they deal with it then, since you know how they shouldn’t?

Let's say for example the Spanish were to say visitors to Blackburn have to isolate on return, but Bolton visitors don't. Given the proximity and chance of travel in between it would be risky.

Also relies more on honesty of folk.

Blanket ban is easier.

Correct. It’s shite but the only way to do it.

Mounts has a plan though.....

It’s impossible to do it any other way.

like when wee jimmy still had Spain Banned two weeks ago. My mate and his bird went to Tenerife from Manchester. Drove back straight from airport no quarantine. It’s impossible.

so whilst we may not like it this is the only way of doing it if they are worried about spikes in other countries

Moral of the story is go to Greece 😂

In fairness to him, I don't think he needs one.

As a slight aside, had to go into a couple of places in esco land today. Every person without exception wearing a mask, and seemingly more comfortable maintaining social distance and being prepared to queue up.

Not in a big city though, so perhaps folk are a bit more chilled anyway.

Mounts probably thinks we should be able to just wave our blue passports and be given something approaching diplomatic immunity by those pesky spaniels.

Just quarantine folk who travel to areas that are high infection, the current decision fucks the Spanish tourism, fucks the airline and holiday industry and is a blunt tool. I’ll bet this decision gets overturned pretty quickly when the government get put under pressure over the next few days.

How do you determine who has been to high infection areas?
