Captain William Blyth St. John Fortesque of Old Etonians vs. Royal Artillery in the 1863 Final.

Straight red for 'conduct unbecoming of a gentleman' (spitting in the face of an opponent after being the target of a late tackle).

Good answer but it’s the wrong one

It isn't a trick, there were a few seasons in the 80s when refs didn't show red cards when they sent someone off

What, the 1880s?

Though the question is got a red card

Which would still make it Kevin Moran

Unless it's a trick question, or RW has asked the wrong question

Kevin Moran was the first to be sent off but didn't get a red card, as i posted earlier there were a few seasons in the 1980s when red cards weren't used by refs

Moran therefore became the first player ever to be dismissed from the field of play in an FA Cup Final.[6]Willis said: "It's never caused me a problem. I've never felt guilty about it, because it was the right decision. I just wish it hadn't happened because I'd rather be remembered for other reasons." (The Red Card was not shown, because Red & Yellow Cards were not shown in English Football League matches between January 1981 and August 1987.)
