We have been instrumental in letting this situation develop, there were enough warnings. Johnson snubbed a prearranged phone call with Putin to attend a party meeting to explain his bad behaviour and we sent our FS to Moscow empty handed.

The tanks rolled in and we armed the civilian resistance resulting in a long term war of urban attrition, now we are feeding the fire even more resulting in more innocent casualties.

There comes a time when people have to sit down and negotiate or war takes over, I recall a saying Finding Peace is more difficult than Waging War.

We armed the Ukrainian defence forces at the request of the Ukrainian defence forces, a point you appear to have neglected.

Putin thinks Ukraine is an inherent part of the Russian world and has no right to exist as an independent sovereign nation. Pre-war negotiation was futile, as demonstrated by Putin's humiliation of Macron and Scholz in February.
