I did read somewhere though that there is the potential for unrest in some Russian regions.  Wouldn’t be a surprise tbh - lots of separatist areas/cultures in the south and east who no doubt see an opportunity given the decimation of their army in Ukraine.

Getting tasty now. There was an episode of one of those navy programmes a while ago, where a Russian ship was filmed dropping things over board. 

I'm sure there is more that we don't know about too.

Oil prices are down somehow because of the tariffs. 

Could be very bad news for Russia....... 

I'd guess it's because they are a net exporter of petroleum products.

Anyway, fuck Russia.

Yep. Lower the oil price the better at the moment as far as Russia is concerned!

That contradicts your first post- or am I missing something? 

Russia is partially fucked anyway. 

Loads of little stories of production problems with regards to weapons.

Missiles without proper guidance system in the nose, with blank cover instead.

They may be on a war footing, and producing stuff at a greater rate than in peacetime, but their supply chains aren't as good as they'd like them to be.

Costing them an absolute fortune too- their economy is smaller than ours too (at the moment).

It's economy is believed to be growing, though much of it via a "dark economy"- dodgy sales of oil etc.

I was trying to say that somehow - as a result of the tariffs the global oil price is down. Which is bad news for Russia as its pretty much single handedly keeping it's economy afloat.

I missed your sarcasm initially, so yes it now makes sense!

Russia has had to offload a lot of oil to China as a result of sanctions. I would imagine they're not getting the market price for it though- perhaps Tyldesley could shed some light- as China could just get it from anywhere.

As an aside, these ships of theirs (and maybe China too) that keep breaking communication cables by dragging anchors etc: maybe it's time one of them had an unfortunate accident. Perhaps by inadvertently dragging up some old WW2 UXB?

I think China and India are both paying under the odds. 

Just a matter of whether under the odds is now above the market rate

suppose it depends if they're sent by China, or if they're just mercenaries. If sent by China, then that is a whole new can of worms opened up

US is currently in a trade war with China.

It has tariffs on Russia, and supplies weapons to Ukraine as well as information. 

These have been reinstated. 

It is still targeting Iranian proxies. 

No idea what propaganda they have spoken about.

We're talking about the war on Ukraine in this thread 

It seems the US are on the same side as Russia given Trump said Zelensky was the dictator who started the war 

It seems China are on the same side as Russia if their troops are fighting for them

So regards the war on Ukraine
