Haha, he's also forgetting the fact that Russia throughout his last tenure was further destabilising the east of Ukraine and all he did was send over a handful of javelins.

If anything, it was a muted response by Obama when Russia took Crimea that emboldened Putin but it was also a different kind of invasion.

That also fed into Putin's mistake, thinking the rest of Ukraine would welcome or allow Russia to just take their country like Crimea and the eastern fringes.

Well, Russia has tried to claim firing two ballistic missiles into the centre of a city with a payload of ball-bearings was a mistake. And Trump has taken that claim as fact because he is a fucking orange tool.

All a bit strange really. If it's meant to be a means of gradually providing Putin with an off-ramp, then I'm not seeing it develop.

Here we go…surprised it’s taken so long for the US to start and back track on bringing peace to Ukraine. If only those pesky Ukrainians would have surrendered it could have been done and dusted by now. There’s not much more the yanks could have done is there to appease Putin and humiliate Zelensky? At least they tried.

He signed the memorandum of understanding to get access to Ukrainian minerals 24 hours earlier. He doesn’t care one bit about Ukraine as a country or its people - it’s a business transaction and now that’s signed, the peace talks can get to fuck.

American companies aren't going to invest in developing the industry- which it drastically needs- whilst missiles are flying. 

I posted a link a while back about just how little Ukraine's mineral extraction is developd, and how some are simply not available.

If he's got his deal, has he failed?

Proof will be if the stuff actually flows to America, but if he has, then surely he's well on the way to getting what he wants.

As I've said before: our agreement with them, and laid out in government papers on-line, also contains the word "minerals" amongst others.

Clearly not the full agreement shown, but an agreement nonetheless. 

Trump is just a bit of a fuckwit without any subtlety to achieve his aims with dignity rather than belligerence.

Something Ukraine said they would mirror. 

Like it or not, something may be happening. That can't be bad, irrespective of who is brokering/forcing it.

One day might just lead to another. 

We can all be sceptical, but we have to give it a chance.
