Its appeasement, that's all it is, and more people will end up dying in the longer term if you essentially capitulate to agressors. These aren't peace deals in the slightest.

  • We’ve reached a point where folk are so entrenched in their support for trump that they’ll side with Putin if it means not losing face on the socials. Thats where we are now. its ok

  • That Vance is a bigger cunt than Trump

Nice summary of the last two weeks shenanigans, and how Putin continues to play Trump/Krasnov like a fiddle.

Nothing better from the Europeans though is there?

Another attack last week brought howls of condemnation from all over Europe, with absolutely nothing to back it up.

Lip service.

Trump may not be achieving much, but he has at least managed to get some talks going.

Which is better than anyone else has.

Europe needs to provide defensive surface to air missiles etc urgently, in greater numbers.

Stop the ballistic missiles and drones from their demoralising effect on the people.

Russia is running out of money, and the provision of support that cancels out these barrages, will push Russia closer to financial collapse or peace talks.

Completely agree.  Europe periodically talk a good game, and seem to be leading the narrative (eg the ultimatum to Putin a week or so back), but then it fizzles out.  In all honesty I do think it would now be better if Trumpy did actually walk away completely.  His interjections only muddy the waters and give Putin opportunities to squeeze between the cracks. If Europe does take the lead then actions need to back the words up (more sanctions, more weapons).

It'd be bad news if Trump decided to wash his hands of it - it's not for nothing that Putin's tactic is to continue frustrating him until he withdraws funding and walks away

It'd take a major shift in attitude from the Britain and the mainlamd European nations to pick up the fight, and I've not really seen clear indications of that shift yet

The thing is, I think Europe knows the US have a huge amount of money allocated to the military and they love spending it.

Despite what the orange tit says, the majority of US aid to Ukraine has been spent within the US replacing their stocks of weapons.

We and Europe have become accustomed to peace so have run down all our armed forces and it will take a sea change to reverse that thinking because to get anywhere near US military spend per GDP will require massive tax increases.

If anyone is interested, Ukraine have launched a huge drone attack on Ruski airbases and destroyed an estimated 40 planes including strategic bombers capable of delivering nuclear bombs. Oh and a couple of bridges. Early days reporting but could be a huge setback for Russia.

I noticed that this morning. And 2 bridges have mysteriously collapsed near the border.

Interestingly - the drones used in the airbase attack are all quite small which suggests they were launched from inside Russia.

Definitely last one tonight.

Tin hats time tomorrow in Ukraine I'd imagine.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) claims today’s attack on airfields in Russia has struck 34% of Russia’s strategic bombers capable of carrying cruise missiles.

In a post on social media, the SBU said its "Operation Spider's Web" cost Russia $7bn (£5.2bn).

"We’re doing all we can to drive the enemy from our land! We’ll strike them at sea, in the air and on land. If necessary, we’ll get them from underground," the SBU writes in a Telegram post.

Smuggled in on the back of lorries that just drove to near where they were stored. It is like something out of Mission Impossible.

Ukraine claiM to have destroyed 40 planes with a value of £75m each !

One of those bridges came down on top of a passenger train.

Not ideal timing. Russian authorities using it to bolster support from the people.

Can't help thinking that something else hit the bridge other than small drones- it would have taken a lot to drop them.

Made me fist pump and shout come on that.

Ace that!

As impressive as the pager attack on Hezbollah. Bravo!

They’ve had Putin’s pants down there.

He won’t like that, at all.

Magnificent.

It'll be interesting to see what he does in retaliation, as I suspect he won't wanting to sign any ceasefire deals anytime soon, and will want full revenge plus some

I expect he’ll be opening the Oreshniks

Worth noting that Russia have rules about the use of nuclear weapons and an attack on their nuclear capability is a flag to allow them to use the weapons.

I am basing this on a Twitter post so might as true as pink unicorns ands McAtee header.

Putin still hasn’t made mention of the attack.

Not sure if that’s embarrassment or he has something awful planned.

Kerch bridge has been sabotaged. Not sure how much damage yet.

I'm surprised they haven't hit this more frequently
