She used to go in my local in Didsbury, had a much younger fella iirc

I heard today about how UK Defence Companies have been excluded from supply contracts under the just announced 150 Billion Euro "SAFE" rearmament fund because we are not in the EU... although Ukrainian companies are included.

Is someone taking the piss somewhere?

Yes, I did.

Met her at the Tatton flower show; me and lad went and spoke to her and thanked her for her help when he was a toddler.

He'd seen some flooding on the TV (Sydney) and got himself into such a state that he had screaming abdabs when it rained hard.

We asked him what it would take for him to accept we weren't going to flood, and he said if a weather presenter and expert told him.

So I emailed the BBC with his story, and she wrote him a fantastic letter, and cured him of his fear instantly!

She was incredibly busy at the time, but still made time for a chat. Gorgeous of course, but friendly etc. Also a strong character and you could also tell she wouldn't suffer fools.

Terrible shame, and taken too young.
