Are we going up?

The other day Rudy said we were 250-1 to win the league.

I put £10 on at 150-1.

Decent odds for a team on a roll.

  • Actually the new Bolton is go one up, miss 27 chances then defend for last 25 minutes potentially with 10 men and pretty certain with a non goal keeper in nets after Gilks injures himself knee sliding

Talk about a week being a long time in football.  With 10 minutes to go at Mansfield they were 2 pts above us with a game in hand, top of the form table and looking at play offs.  A week later we're 1

  • Still have every faith. Not even arsed we lost today. Had to lose somewhere and now is the right time to do it. I think Maddison needs a couple of starts.

52.0% chance of Top 3

7.9% 1st

17% 2nd

27.1% 3rd

77 points - 37.1% chance of promotion

78 points - 56.1%

36.3% chance of Top 3 (although still 3rd favourite to go up)

3.5% 1st

10.9% 2nd

21.8% 3rd

77 points gives a 54.5% of automatic promotion

This doesn't take the Morecambe match at the moment into account

Sarfend winning one bart

Mrs Dimron pointed out last night that none of the top nine teams have won their last match with the exception of Newport, after a scan of the tables there were a lot of draws throughout so in my opinion automatic promotion is definitely still on but we must beat Harrogate.

On Monday do not think any team beat a team below them in the league at the start of play .

Great result tonight, Tranmere, F.G. and Morecambe all away from home Saturday and trick fixtures, do our bit and put Harrogate to the sword and hope 1 or 2 of the others slip up. I’d prefer it to be Tranmere out if the 3 to slip up.

Tranmere will fall away now they’re without Vaughan and Spearing

Another let off tonight.  Just shows how twitchy everyone is getting with the latest round of results.

no more balls ups now - let’s get this job done and dusted.

Also heard they’d lost the keeper injured. Still think they’re more a danger than FGR or Morecambe.

Another example of it being a poor league

For a fourth tier league, I'd say it's a good league

Aye

Just cos teams at the bottom can beat the top doesnt make it a bad league

Imo, its much better than it was last time around

Aye, a lot of top foreign players in the Prem and even Championship will mean a lot of good British players will be in the lower leagues.

Wenger used to go on about this and he was correct.

You watch worthys goal v ipswich

Ok, its fantastic and a couple of goals by ipswich are crackers on a shit pitch, but id say the football we play betters a lot of the boot it miles played that day

Anyone can beat anyone in this league, it's very competitive and it's the one league you don't want to be bottom of, as losing League status could kill some clubs. So those at the bottom are scrapping for every point. Every game will be tough from now.

Bollocks to all the outcomes and scenarios

one half at a time and we’ll be reet

I've actually been surprised at the standard of football in this league, it's much better than i thought it would be, there's not much hoofball - everybody at least tries to get the ball down & play.Even the teams at the bottom - Sarfend, Grimsby etc aren't that much different to the teams at the top, they are maybe a 15-20 goal striker and a decent defender away from being up there themselves.

I am convinced it will be less than 80 points for third spot. Us and Tranmere would have to average 2.3 points a game to get there, more for the others. Currently we average 1.64.
It will come down to very fine margins and as mentioned hopefully experience helps us get there. The disallowed goal v Colchester and Lee's misses v Newport have dragged us back into the pack but even with those 2 results our form has us ahead of the others going for 3rd.

Personally think Cheltenham and Cambridge have done enough and would need to blow up for 2 teams to catch them. It looks like us Tranmere or Morecambe, with Newport and FGR as outsiders.

It is there for the taking we are favourites with the bookies.

What a journey this season has been! The way Sharon, IE and the squad have turned this around is unbelievable. To even put us in a position of promotion is an achievement from where we were in December. Yes it will only be a success now if we go up. But calm heads, together with our quality and experience will see us over the line,

You have to give the owners credit in backing evatt in January would have been very easy to accept our fate being 19th and keep powder dry until next season.

They’ve been superb every step of the way. A lot of trust went and faith has gone in IE time to get us over the line now

They have and if we get promoted credit shared equally between management team, players and owners.

I don't think IE would have survived if the supporters were allowed in the ground.

Maybe Covid has done it's bit

We all need to just channel our inner Philosopher and take note of the great Gareth Keenan
