That would be wonderful and with FGR playing Exeter we could have the buffer we had before the Grimsby game.

We wont! If we win and Morecambe draw, we will be 3 points in front, instead of the 4 point buffer before the Grimsby game.

This along with you subsequent post is a very reasoned argument. So fair play to you.

In the same spirit let me highlight why you earlier posts were received so badly. Along with Ratchet you arrived here explaining how we needed to change and create and score more goals. Delf was a particular subject for your views. As a result of injuries we did change, we did create more chances and Delf was dropped.

You are now saying in essence 'change it back' so presumably you will be happy to say that those arguing  we should not change and that despite winning by 1 goal we were fine were right ?

Your point on Lee is IMO 100% correct in that protecting the back 4 frees up everyone else to do very defined jobs. At the time you argued we should attack more if we could do it without increasing risk, but the two go hand in hand which was the point others were making.

I would be a millions times happier if after the changes we had gone and beat Grimsby and maybe with Lee deeper the result would have been the same. Who knows ?

I recommended two main changes Ani, replace Isgrove on the right who I thought was putting plenty effort in but with no effect and drop Delf who I thought should be contributing more with his undoubted talent. Since then ISgrove has actually massively improved playing with Jones and Sarcevic has suffered a long injury. The option chosen by IE to move Lee into the No10 spot for me hasn’t worked, so it seems logical to move him back alongside MJ and because none of our other options are better, put Delf back in the 10 role.

At the end of the day, the main problem recently has not been creating chances but taking them. Maybe I came over in my original comments as hyper critical, rather than Constructive but I certainly didn’t mean to and I think with just minor tweaking and players performing as they can, we’ll get the results we need in the next few weeks. I’ll still say it as I see it but I’ll try to ensure it’s said positively. 😉🤗

GT upsetting the team?

Crikey, he changed the game against Walsall, and we won.

Best player by all accounts the other day too.

It's up to other players to pull their fingers out and get back to where they were.

Agree, a kid plucked from non-league and he was unlucky to be dropped in the first place.

He has been first class for me. I liked him from day one.

Drop Lee, his number 10 role hasn't worked. He couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo.

Replace with Delfonso or Miller for Tuesday.

4-4-2.

I wouldn’t be dropping any old heads, I’d bring Sarcevic back if he’s fit, if not keep Thompson in the team, if Sarce is fit it has to be him Lee & MJ, purely based on them having experience in a high pressure game.

I understand your thought process.

Still think you are wrong through.

:)

I would not drop GT for anyone.

I like GT but if I was Evatt I’d be looking for game management from experienced pros over a great young kid and think that’s what Evatt will do if Sarce is available.

Think sarce is back for morecambe

he won’t risk it for Carlisle

When you say you think, is this based on inside knowledge or the science of saying something which may or not happen but if it does then you “knew all along”?

For me, if we went to that formation, then I'd have GT on the left of midfield, Lee and Williams in the middle with Isgrove right.

GT has shown he can pass a ball, and I reckon he'd supply more crosses to a front two than dapo.

However, I don't see IE changing to that formation.

With Isgrove and GT as "wide" players, we'd seriously lack pace.

Which is one of the reasons dapo should and, in my opinion, will play

Dapo carries & dribbles the ball better than anyone else in the squad how he’s not scored and not drawn a penalty yet is quite unbelievable.

The words “drop” and “Lee” should not be put in the same sentence unless started with “one thing we should not do is...”

He’s the best centre mid in the league for fuck sake. He missed a couple of sitters granted, but you accommodate him with whatever other changes are needed, you do not drop a player as good as him with 4 games left to go and promotion within reach!

FWIW I actually do think we’re a better team with him playing in the 2 next to Williams, but having no Sarce causes us problems for the 10 position (and it means that GT would have to be very unfairly dropped from recent performances) - personally I’d have Fonz in there with Isgrove right and Dapo left. It’s tried and tested and has treated us well for the vast majority of 2021.

We don't have great pace anyhow. Isgrove and Jones work the right as a partnership.

Dapo might have some pace, but doesn't do too much with it.

The point of putting GT wide is that he can clearly put a ball across, in particular with the left foot. Beckham had no great pace, but there was no finer crosser of a ball.

Morcambe will win tonight, Grimsby won't produce 2 performances like that in a row, hope I'm wrong.

As long as we win, that's all that matters.

Still reasonably in our hands.

Two home wins and two away draws should scrape it hopefully, an away win on top of the home wins should ensure promotion...

Been on a bit of a downer since the 1st minute v Grimsby, let's hope our players are made from sterner stuff. 2-0 to us COYWM

I know early on what sort of game we're going to have from the early touches at the back.

I've said that too. If Grimsby are capable of playing like they did on saturday 2 games in a week, they wouldn't be bottom
