Exeter City - Home

The day the nightmare ends.

middlebrook heaving with tailgate parties and jubilant fans

Massive celebrations by Nat’s statue

A long long overdue reason to celebrate something genuinely incredible given years of disappointment.

Or a damp squib that brings out the misery-hungry naysayers?

Hopefully that's accurate by Saturday tea time.  Right now, you've 1 too many on there!

The plot thickens

Not really Casino, work moved me all over, although the family came in the late 70’s when I was based in Sheffield. In fact I left home in Swinton when I was 18, so it’s a long time since I actually had a “home” game because whether it was Sheffield, Lincoln, London or Scotland, I never missed, so if I do have a pop some time, I think I’ve earned it 🥳 I’d love to move back to Lanky but with all the family, kids and grandkids here now that ain’t going to happen!!

Since 75;

2 Division winners (78 & 97)

3 Runners up promotions (88, 93, 2017)

2 play off wins (95 & 01)

And

3 last day failures (76, 77 & 2013?)

8 relegations (80, 83, 87, 96, 98, 2016, 2019, 2020)

If you’re counting successful playoffs, you also got to count playoff final losses.

Perhaps they’ll come under last day failures.

Cambridge play tonight at Harrogate.

You’re right if we are talking about end of season elation/despair as opposed to promotion/relegation

But then, of course, you also need the great end of season escapes. Forest and Birmingham/West Ham (probably as good as any promotion!)

I believe Harrogate play in last seasons FA trophy final at Wembley on Monday

Surely this must affect there 2 league games against our championship rivals

Yes would have thought they'd have moved tonight's game further forward.

Let’s hope Harrogate players are playing for Wembley places.

I’ll take a Notts Forest type injury time winner tomorrow.

Once upon a time, promotions were sweet because we got to rub the noses of opposition fans in our glory.

Bizarrely, tomorrow will be sweet because we get to rub the noses of some of our own ‘fans’ in it.

Its the modern world I suppose, and makes no sense, but there we go.

Hughmungus and Ratchetpants will be having a sleepless night for different reasons.

Really bizarre that you’d think about either 2 on securing promotion.

Enjoy the day, they don’t come round often with the wanderers. COYWM

Nah, prefer 2-0 by half time, preferably a man sent off for them , their keeper injured with no one on bench, cruise to a 5-0 win. However I think a tight affair decided by 1 goal is reality

I won’t until I pop on here and Hughmungus is prattling on about Evatt doing the bare minimum (though not mentioning the transfer ban, weirdly) and clearly being upset that he looks a total jizzmop.

Ill just be happy and enjoying it with my lad who is beside himself at the thought of his first promotion following the whites.

Looking at the Exeter City fan sites, it seems they’re pretty confident of winning this tomorrow. I’m sure much of it is bravado but in fairness they do score goals and have an aerial threat up front, so Rico and Baps will have to be on song to stop them. I think it’ll be a pretty open game because if they lose, they have nothing to fall back on, unlike ourselves. We just need to ensure we take the chances we get and hopefully Sarce will help with that. Looking forward to a cracking game but possibly a nervy one?

I have a horrible feeling we're taking this to Crawley but that's what 40+ years of watching Bolton does to you

id like us back to my favoured midfield tomorrow

mj and lee with sarcevic further up

left back is a toss up but i think safety first will see john back in

other than that only question is right wing - isgrove or delf and id expect it to be isgrove

and even i put a keeper on the bench
