Meanwhile in Israel

Is it kicking off big time or is this just everyday stuff they deal with or a bit of both?

Welsh? I suggest you pick up a book

I suggest you learn to post the most basic of English. Have you made one comment tonight that makes any sense?

Wouldn’t know where to start with that.

But you know me, I’ll try 😁

They’re a fairly strict Jewish religious group, the article is filled with mistruths & speaks openly about a divine right to the land rooted in ancient scriptures.

This is from their about us page

“When it comes to history we consider Marc Shapiro’s “Changing the Immutable: How Orthodox Judaism Rewrites Its History.” No one is criticized for citing scholarship that doesn’t match strict traditional beliefs.”

So there’s where they’ve got their evidence from for disputing the land that Israel has taken (& continues to take).

Bit dubious & heavily biased no ?

You’re absolutely right to question the maps though 👍 They are all too often shared with no context or historical explanation.

But that doesn’t dispute the fact that Israel are purposefully preventing the rights of Palestinians to sovereignty. The basic right to move freely across land which is as much theirs as it is Israeli. These present settlements are illegal & they amount to ethnic cleansing.

We can all sit here & be nihilist like Spider, it’s easy to say they’ve been at it for years & ignore it. But a two state solution could & should be a real possibility. Sometimes things get a lot worse before a solution is found.

There is no justification for the land that Israel has taken & continues to take. Do you think it’s okay ? Or do you think Palestine has a right to exist as well?

Hope you’re well bud x

Yes I mentioned that on here the other day, it was alway going to be the case and one of the reasons I say this happens in war, whether folk agree with it or not is upto them. But it does

Especially when you employ the concept of human shields - once again on show in Gaza City where folk are being coerced into staying put and those that do leave are labelled by the cowards as (ironically) 'cowards'.

Well it is, so im not sure what you are on about there. I get it if you dont understand the point I was trying to make with it about your general worldview and posts but probably not best to double down on it. It sort of well, makes the idea of someone else 'showing themselves up' (TM Royal White default mode) a bit ironic.

if you’re attempting to Try and be smart in future by using  other peoples quotes then use the copy and paste function, it will save people time trying to make sense of Your ramblings…..hence the you “speaking Welsh comment”

Just go back and read some of your ramblings from yesterday.

During the 12 or hours/this most recent debate you haven't made one salient point or a single informed opposing view backed up with any form of evidence, supposition or any kind of reference point.

If you're going to engage on a subject matter where folk are discussing a topic the general idea is talk over those poins listen to the information being given to you then maybe, maybe just offer something back.

Instead you just come out with cryptic quotes then act all educated by saying where the quotes come as if anyone should know. Read a book etc. Piss off ffs.

We get it you're too educated and middle class to debate topics with minions.

What a rubbish facade.

Just since Israel was formed will do for me

They wanted a home land and got one

And since then keep taking more land by force and killing / displacing folk in the land they want more of

How far back do you want to go?

Ah OK ... So it only matters to you what has happened 1948 - Present.

Anything before that should be ignored?

I think we should go back way before 1948 and look at how The United Kingdom of Israel was formed.

woudln't say ignore as such, but you have to start somewhere, so when it was formed and lines were drawn will do for me

seems a fair starting point

feel free to enlighten me on how The United Kingdom of Israel was formed

I thought the point was to call each other 'hun', ask if they're alright, tell them they're having a mare, suggest they go to bed and / or stop drinking, try to boil everything into yes / no answers (that you insist folk answer first), and have a pop at whatever they do for a living.

Don't mind giving your way a go, but can't really see it catching on.

Why should it be good? Google is your friend on this subject. Look it up and make your own judgement.

https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/4083953/jewish/What-Are-the-Origins-of-Judaism.htm

Judaism was alleged to be founded in the ancient Canaan region.

It's not like the Jews had zero connection with the land before 1948. They lived on the land well before the emergence of Islam.

I don't think using @Zico map from 1948 - present and making judgement is a true representation. Some do ... I don't.

Hope you enjoyed the read.

So the modern ancestors of ancient tribes should be allowed to claim land their ancestors "allegedly" occupied a couple of millenia ago, and kick the current occupants out? Jesus wept. (Pun intended)

No ... Is that what you think? I didn't say that.

I think it gives a better understanding of why it's important to them instead of just posting a map from 1948.

So you would agree that (although it's "important to them" in terms of ancient history) they have no claim whatsoever on that land - legal or otherwise?

I'm not denying Jewish history in the region - it’s well known that Jews lived there long before 1948.

But the current conflict isn't between the “ancient Israelites” and “ancient Canaanites.”

It's between the modern state of Israel, created in 1948, and Hamas, which didn’t exist until much later.

That's why starting from 1948 makes sense: that's when Israel was founded, borders were drawn, and mass displacement began, as shown by the map.

Ancient history might explain ideologies and narratives, but it doesn’t justify what's happening today.

The reality shown in the maps is that since 1948, Palestinian land has steadily shrunk, with people displaced and killed along the way. And it's what Israel are still doing to this very day.

That's not 1500 years ago - that's in our lifetimes, and it's the direct reason groups like Hamas exist today.
