Covid-19

Slow news day, or end of the world?

”Aggressive” new variant has landed in Moscow. Makes people, even those that have been vaccinated, more poorly than previous types.

Time for Uncle Joe to push the button? Short term pain.

They changed the way influenza deaths were collated in 2020 and split them into two columns; death involving influenza and death because of influenza.

You can’t die of two things, you die with a primary, secondary or tertiary cause.

Early in the pandemic the way deaths were reported changed too.

but did anything change at the turn of the year? because it would appear that's when we saw a spike

call it what you want, but it looks to me like deaths involving covid have gone up

and they'll probably go up some more with fewer restrictions like not having to isolate

just wondering what the thinking behind it is

it's probably Boris trying to win some voters back

Not sure how removing isolation requirement is a big vote winner.

So long as pubs are open, and there are no passports, folk will he happy!

Bit too late for such announcements to give him a boost anyway.

I'm not sure of any change in the definition of deaths, although bbc seem to be adding an extra sentence now!

Think deaths will drop soon though: the cases dropped then plateaued and are dropping again iirc and I'm sure deaths will follow suit after the lag.

He (Charlie) used to have gay sex with MEN. He caught AIDs in Mallorca. He give it to Diana up the wrong 'un to spitefully infect her. That's why she crashed that Fiat Uno in Miami or whatever.

Edit: He's also a dope-shooter.

Covid eye

Me and the missus had Covid around new year

ever since, both of us have been struggling with irritated eyes. Apparently it’s what hay fever sufferers complain about (but hay fever is made up so difficult to quantify)

Anyone else?

Yep. But not had covid (that I know of).

Started a few months back, and rang the docs. After I spoke to him (and emailed a pic) I was at the eye dept in two days. Brilliant service, particularly in covid.

Diagnosed dry eyes and blepharitis.

A lot better, but still get a bit sticky and crusty in the morning. Eye lashes dropping out isn't great though.

Going to try one of the "Thea" products to help- based on hyaluronic acid. This is essentially what they treated it with initially.

Beat him to death with his woman taming club. A kind of extreme irony.

Anyway... She's that ginger she's got fucking freckles on her eye balls!

It is, but

This spreads much more quickly but is much less potent

So more folk have it but its much less likely to be what kills you

The point being more folk are cynical about it, and critical than are pleased so much as to improve their opinion of him.

Really don't see it as anything which will boost him- in fact it will probably be a negative.

I get all that, but what i don't get is that if, as is reported, people dying "with" covid are on the up in 2022 compared to back end of 2021, then that means there are more people in hospital "with" covid, which is what we don't want, whether it kills them or not

so why then remove the strictest of all the restrictions now, and a month ahead of schedule?

it would make more sense if those numbers wer going down

Because it isn’t overwhelming the NHS, and unlikely to?
