On an aside to all this, I didn't realise how recent this was. It was only about 10 years ago wasn't it?

I went to Rivi which wasn't the best but most of us back then knew not to call an Asian lad a Pa*i, especially not to their face. I left school nearly 30 years ago ffs.

You're right it doesn't. It does lend credence to Ballance's statement that talked about banter. He's from Zimbabwe initially, but he's refused to divulge the names rafiq chucked at him. There was a statement the other day on the media somewhere about some derogatory phrase used by Zimbabwe folk (Black I think it meant) towards white people there. I get the impression that this is what Rafiq used.

Doesn't seem to have been a problem for Ballance as they both took the piss out of each other. But he's been open about it and offered apologies for anything he may have said that caused offence.

 

As has been said earlier if you’re going to sit and cry crocodile tears in an attempt to pull on the heart strings for compo make sure you aren’t guilty yourself. I would assume some of his money will go into his business. 

They're not happy at Rotherham Council not allowing his restaurant/cafe to open longer for safeguarding concerns, so maybe he will use it to help in this regard.
