I have a confession to make,  I've set you up a bit on that.

I asked the question because I was born in a BMH in Germany.  This meant that, had I been good enough, I could have played football for England, Scotland, Wales or NI (despite having no ancestry from Wales or Scotland).  I could not have represented Germany and have no claim for German nationality.

Boring fact for the day, Maik Taylor qualified to play in goal for Norn Iron as he was an army baby despite having no Norn Iron in him.

I know overseas embassies are classed as belonging to the land of the  country they represent. So assume it’s something similar?

but back to the question. The cricketer is Pakistani. He has represented India. I notice fromage hasnt answered whether Kevin Pietersen is English? Or South African? Same situation? He very much sees himself as South African
