Out of interest, what was he watching on?  Didn't know it was possible on a Saturday.

He’s one busy little bastard. Constantly putting centre backs under pressure, niggling away, reminds me of Dickov, Phillips, Bellamy, like a fuckin mosquito bugging the shit out of you, pestering you. He was absolutely excellent today.

Very much Vardy like....will do for me

They may as well have had Rod Stewart upfront, I think they set up based on watching us weeks ago. Amateurish.

Crazy Corner nowhere to be seen when 200 Sunlun lads were trying to break through Police lines.

Atmosphere depends more if we're playing well/winning.

Of course a big away following can be noisy, but it's better still when they're quiet!

If that game had been against Cambridge or Cheltenham, yes 6-0 would have been ace, but there's no way you get an atmosphere like today with 12k home fans and 300 away fans that you don't know are there.  Them selling out added to the day, no question.

That lad with the ginger beard who waves the big flag in front of North Lower is a bit of a tit. Ball went out for a Sunderland goal kick towards the end and he picked it up, then just stood there holding the ball out with a big grin on his face, forcing the keeper to walk over and take it from his hands. Gave it the big one to the crowd after too, like he'd done something proper clever. Just throw it back on the pitch you knob.

Thought it was quite funny, personally. He does have his moments, mind.

i haven’t enjoyed watching a player like I have in Kieran Lee in years. He is fucking brilliant.

Correct

It was like the Prem days today. Sunderland are a big club with a massive following like us.

Regardless of league positions, this is currently the biggest fixture in the third tier, and due to them being top of the league and us on a bit of an upward tick, it made today a genuinely big game.

Both sets of fans have been craving something like this for ages. Needle, aggro, 2 teams that are unpredictable, proper atmosphere.

We were on the right side of it today, and that made it sweet as fuck. But sunlun played their part and for that I’m actually grateful. Cambridge won’t offer the same.

Both clubs, in truth, deserve to be much higher up the leagues based on todays game.

Blast from the past!

Yes on days like today I don’t think there are any better midfielders in this division than Lee, he looked absolutely sublime today 👏

Real credit to both sets of fans for that turnout today. I don’t want to sound like Billy big hillocks but both sides really need to be higher up the football league

Agreed.  He does it for me too.  Last 2 home games - wow.  Is he the same player that couldn't hit a barn door in league 2?

Missed a sitter first half, but I think I’ll let him off. This time.

Yes, I agree.  We should be almost grateful that we have a Sunderland and Sheff Wed to play this season, to ease the pain of being in this dreadful league (not as bad as last year of course).  The good news is we'll be playing both teams next season hopefully, as they aren't very good.  As good as we were today, my god they were bad.  As a football fan, its sad to see that Sunderland can have such poor players, technically awful (where's McGeady?  Their best player in last couple of years surely?).  We could win 8-0 v Cambridge and it wont be as good as today, football and crowds/atmosphere go hand in hand.

Really like games & the atmosphere when there's a big away following.

Sunderland fans are sound, in the IOM pre season, Bolton & Sunderland got on well, but as supporters they are pisspoor, won't support any manager & when losing they turn on their players & go storming off early.

As fans, they're quantity but no quality & i hope to see them streaming out 20 minutes before the end.

I was close to ‘Crazy Corner’ and saw about 20 scruffy Sunlun kids giving it the big one & throwing a few empty placcy bottles, which were quickly thrown back by equally scruffy skinny Bolton kids.

Nothing to see really.
