Sheff Weds (H)

Not seen a thread for this yet, so here goes.

We’ll need everyone to have a great game to win this - and thats not happened for what seems like a long time.

We’ve also a few injuries as we all know.

Head says 1-2

Heart says 2-1

People be so fickle. Yeah we got a depleted squad and nothing to play for. But look, we are in a great position, its a Saturday afternoon, sun is shining, 2 massive, historical teams playing against e

I’ve nothing against them, proper club. I just enjoy visiting fans fuming when late goals go in

  • No one scores more late goals than us. Who the fuck is leaving 10 minutes to go. Weirdos

3 times in the 1at half Charles attempted to turn his man, 3 times the defender used their arms to block him, 3 times the ref gave a free kick against Charles.

Ridiculous isn’t it?

I get that he blows hot and cold.

But giving him grief and booing him is just mindless

Aye

The booing of Kachunga - wasn't it by the Sheff Wednesday fans? He used to play for them....

It was. I'm not a massive fan of his but I've not heard our lot booing him

Then their bloke throws himself to the floor and we get a booking.

I didn't understand any of the bookings today apart from the head to head towards the end of the game.

Why was Kachunga booked?

Some quality shithousing from Kachunga after the match. Only decent thing he did all game.

Fair result. They might have gone on to win if they'd stopped time wasting and tried to get another.

Typical end of season, nothing to play for type performance from us.

Centre backs were excellent today without Santos.

Agreed.  Both have had their share of stick, they were excellent today, especially Aimson, proper centre back performance.  4-4-2 suits him so much better.  I would add that the Sheff Wed C/Bs were on a different level, simply stronger and more aggressive than anything we could offer.

Bannan wasn’t such a shithousey little piss can, he’d have played in the Premier League.

Thought we were a little fortunate to get a point with how many half chances Wednesday had, but I don’t think they were anything particularly special, scored a scruffy goal and were pretty wasteful otherwise. Don’t expect them to do well in the play offs and might be looking over their shoulder a bit with MK and Wycombe still to play.

I know what you're saying but Bannan did play quite a few Prem games not only for Villa but Palace too.  I hadn't realised till I just checked that he also played for Blackpool, Derby and Leeds; Holloway .  He's had a proper career, mostly in the championship which his level, the low point was probably his spell with us!  Funny to see Kachunga go upto him at the end of the game and Bannan pushed him away, obviously close friends from being teammates last season!

They had words in the aftermath of Kachunga’s booking and again not long after the equaliser

Which 5 or 6 ?
I know you will place Katchunga at no.1

I didn’t think SW were poor, and we did get out of jail.

Exactly.  I hope we are that poor next season.

23 goals, 75-90 this season and yet still people leave early.

they bossed for periods and like Wigan should have made the game safe.  But 1 is never enough and fair play we kept going.

mj was magnificent today, but we missed 2 glorious chances as well and if you want to progress next season that can’t happen.

have seemed to be making silly mistakes in the last few games and inviting pressure on to us.

been great against most of the bottom half, but often struggling top half.

overall, great season, couple more wins would be nice, strengthen over summer and also have a bit better luck with injuries next season.

More Kachunga hate for no reason again I see. He was a 6/10 today but so were Bodvarsson, Charles, Jones

No mention of Amaechi who was absolute gash again

So was Kachunga getting it off our lot ? I thought it was just off them, because he's ex Wednesday,

I couldn't hear our lot booing him near me.

Thought we just about deserved a draw.SW had a few half chances but nothing you would say clear cut.Turned up just hoping to watch a descent game not to bothered about the result but by the end it felt so good shutting the Yorkshire cunts up

Morley mom

"We just about deserved a draw" by a fan usually means "how the hell did we get a draw".  We could have lost 4-1 and not complained, they were wasteful.  Bannan had more shots in the first 15 minutes than we had in 90.  That's not to say we were all bad, we weren't.  As you say, Morley was good, Aimson was outstanding, Johnstone good.  Bod decent for an hour, unlucky to come off, should have been Charles who was simply out muscled by their impressive C/Bs.  Williams decent and he got a shot on target!  Trafford's best game that I've seen, loved how assured he was.  And I agree, so good to shut their noisy fans up, its worth it just for that.  But another wake up call about the standard we need to reach next year, they were stronger and tactically better all over.

Don’t think they are all that, we should of beaten them away and that was before we strengthened, and they couldn’t  beat us today without our best 2 players.

Shite, weak, uninterested, no passion, and lazy. Nothing to add really!

I don't get the uninterested and lazy bit, he looks like he's busting a gut just to join in, and he has more passion than Dapo for eg but you don't win with passion.  Just weak as you say, and untalented, that's the bottom line.  Wednesday fans will have known today why they released him, for every great goal v Cheltenham, there are 6 ineffective performances where the opposition have him in their pockets, and today was another of those.  We have had worse players but he won't be involved much in any team that gets promoted from league one.

Amaechi's on loan and we wont see him after this month.  Kachunga is part of our squad for next season without question.

Didn't quite see what went on but he definitely walked away from it knowing he was getting booked

To be fair I've only ever seen him blow cold 😁

Booing him isn't on like. I didn't hear any of that round me to be fair.

I can categorically say there was no booing in at least half of East Stand (towards away end).  Nothing but support, and occasional frustration that we didn't get shut of the ball from Trafford/the defence a bit quicker, which I could understand.

I couldn't understand that.  We've had some terrible players over the years, but I'm struggling to think of any that I would boo next time we played against them unless they had come out and said BWFC or shit or something similar.  So just Keith Andrews then.

I thought we were second best in most areas for most of the game and I'd not have been surprised to go home empty handed.

However, some positives...
Trafford had a great game, hopefully quietening those who say he's has nothing to do.
Aimson/Johnston stood up to a very physical forward line.
MJ finally got a shot on target
Bodvarsson ran his arse off

but best of all, is the fact that this team is never beaten at 1 down.

We did have Santos, Lee and Dapo playing that day, arguably our best 3 players this season?  And they would say they had strengthened too, they had 4 players today that started against us last time, and they look a much better team now, reflected in their results since the transfer window.  They couldn't beat us today but we couldn't beat Morecambe twice and nearly lost both, but I still think we are better than them.  Sheff Wed are currently better than us, no shame in that.

Look, it's obvious to everyone, including Evatt and Markham, where we need to improve

Still picking up results despite injuries and conceding first. Not all bad.

I actually thought we would lose today because of a lack of motivation - pleasantly surprised.
