Baka works best off the bench why change it

Still taking in that performance in at the Bowlands Brewery in Clitheroe today. What  top place that is!

Anyway, give Salford a good thrashing on Tuesday before our first way win of the season and it will be all systems go.

Playoffs as an absolute minimum.

I'm not having Bakayoko is at the level Ricketts was, Ricketts was scoring brilliant goals in a strong PL consistently. I like Baka, but...

Meanwhile, any idea why Charles was out and how long he'll be out for?

Ricketts goal at OT was up there with any goals I've seen us score ever.  And there was a spell in the championship and then Prem when he was unplayable.  Plenty of players have had a bad debut for England but that one game doesn't define them.

Strangely (or not) it was MR's England debut that ruined his career I reckon. Shortly before/during his head was filled with suggestions of grandeur by someone and his shed went. What a waste.

Aye Big Sam spoke about it. Reckoned his agent was whoring him about before he even got on the plane to Holland.

He was told he was only getting the first half before the game. Never had a chance.

Great that you’ve got to Holmes Mill. You can spend hours there, and there’s other decent bars in the town too.

You need a session at Rivington brewery tap before you go back. Beautiful views, decent grub and the best craft beer in the world.

@Boby Brno will second me on this. 😄

Very little negatives about yesterdays game so won’t criticise Baka but what I will say is you saw proper No 9 hold and link up play when JDB came on. It sticks

Ricketts was as good as anything around for 18 months

Dont think he ever missed from that first goal as a sub v preston until just before his england call up. Id say he was off the boil by then

JDB, an absolute treat. Pleasure to watch

Baka, should not be mentioned in the same breath as either, but fuck me, what hes got works

I thought that too, JDB was different class for those 20 minutes or so.  Hard to believe it was so easy to get him to drop into league one, in that it was a free transfer and no apparent competition to sign him.  Oozes quality.

Great to have options across the front I know it’s been said before but I would love someone else in as an option for MJ.

Well ignoring ability and potential and all that, it would appear that nationality would be a huge hurdle.

😉

There's always one.

I love our options

however I’m not a fan of big rotation, obviously certain players fit different opposition but we must make some changes compared to others

Dapo already looks like he’s got a new lease of life up there. Think that No 10 role was too congested for him

apart from when he’s clearly knackered I can’t imagine a time where you’d drop him tactically really? The pass for Morley’s goal and how it just delayed it until the perfect time non of the other 3 give us

The players seem happy with it from what we've seen, which is the main thing.

Frequently changing forward players last season, and would expect similar this.

I suppose if a striker gets on a roll, then he might stay in more, but that's for Evatt to balance.

As for yesterday, is it not possible that JDB had a slightly easier time of things as Baka and the team had done the bulk of the work and the game was pretty much won?

Get what your saying but I think it stands out a mile anyway, way before yesterday.

just might not be Baka’s game but you look at him and just think he should be bullying folk with his pace and power and really making it stick up there

A bit like Baka's pass for Dempsey with the third. Perfect in timing and weight.

Yes perfectly timed too. Those runs from deep from both Dempsey and Morley are a new element too

didn’t really play with a 10 did we. Was more of a midfield 3 with licence for 2 of them to really get up and go beyond the front men

Cheers mate. Being from cotton mill stock, spending an afternoon there was an absolute pleasure. A beam engine and the smell of the oils they used which are seeped into the place got my juices flowing!  Food was good as was the beer.

If I get chance with the Rivi thing, I'll be there.
