All the analysis and data aside, I just don't get how the board can seriously be sat thinking anything else but that change needs to happen. And if they think that Evatt can be the one to change

just because you don't see what he offers, doesn't make him a bad player

we were as good as anybody in the league with him playing

youd have been wetting your crusty knickers if we had signed a crocked wilson

But Wilson has been excellent for Derby. Vic isn’t the worst of the four ‘strikers I mentioned’ but has been poor IMO. Aaron Collins has been a good signing mind

Most players get better with absence, Vic gets worse :D

Evatt has been a big part of turning this club around but i like others think rightly or wrongly he has run his course.

Season ticket sales are great but you as well as i know 15k people have not bought one season ticket each.

The fanzone was inside, now it is outside in the rain and cold. If there was a couple of pubs on the complex it would be deserted.

The Swiss investors are a strange one. I dont buy that a bunch of families all of a sudden want to parade around Zurich with Bolton tops on. FV have diluted there holdings in the club why??? Simple they dont want to invest more than what they bought the club for. Again they are clever business people so i cannot fault them but obviously they are not prepared to through money around.

The Government, Swiss and the Bond scheme have invested in players and infrastructure as laid out.

See you just come out with statements like i am away with the faries............I countered everything you say.

It is a forum.....I may be wrong maybe right but at least let people air their views

Air your views by all means, you said on your original post that FV have run their course, none of the above backs up that view point, only FV can decide to call time on their ownership, not some clown on a forum chatting shit. (airing his views)

Some howlers, though the Charles one at Pompey the biggest of all. Hard to say it's the most significant when it happened before Christmas but still pretty damaging

Looking at our goals this season it's been striking how few headers we've scored, i can't help but think this is why Ogbeta tried to chest the ball into the net, do they even train for attacking headers.

An annoying feature of the IE way is that we have no idea how these players would perform in a normal team. Is Dion our best forward or is his goal scoring performance just a feature of the formation pushing almost everything to the 2 front men. Is the reason Victor started scoring after Dions injury took him out of the team due to this?

Some of the points can be sort of valid, but the opening salvo of FV having run their course is not in my humble opinion..

No we certainly don’t Big E and I frankly can’t understand why IE signed him. If you look at his Burton goals, all but 3 were in and around the 6 yard box and that’s also true of most of Vics for us. He just isn’t an “Evatt” player who runs about chasing down defenders but get him into the danger area and I’m sure we’d see a completely different Victor. If I were Vic I’d be looking for a club that suits my style better because he’s always going to struggle here since IE won’t be changing his methods.

A normal team?

Do you actually watch football played by any other team?

His goals at the start of the season seemed to all come from balls whipped early into the box, low and between CBs and keeper.

We don't seem to do that anymore.

He's been frustrating at times, esp with first touch, but I've a feeling (hope?) there's more to come from Vic.

Far more worried about Dion. I'm probably forgetting some good performances, but hasn't seemed the same since the Pompey miss.

We've scored a small number of headers - Toal and Ashworth spring to mind from open play, Iredale, Vic & Toal from corners - but I'm fairly sure the header from Collins was the first by a striker this season from open play.  I don't care how they go in but I feel its a skill we've been lacking for a while.  The only other two headers I can recall from open play, by a striker, were Bod's excellent efforts at Pompey and Derby.  I can't say any spring to mind from last season either.

Genuine question, not having a dig at Vic, but what do you mean by his strengths?  In what way don't we play to them?

You've probably answered my question above, if his strengths are to get chances for him in and around the 6 yard box (not unlike Charles although he probably creates more for himself generally).  I would have thought that's what we try to do don't we?  The wingbacks, especially Cogley, base their game on getting to or near the bi-line and rolling it across goal or picking out an oncoming attacker.  Ideally that's what Vic feeds off surely.

Vic and Dan's injuries both came at a cruel time, just when it looked like they were starting to find some sort of form (Vic moreso than Dan of course). I reckon we'd have secured 2nd place at least by now if they'd been available throughout. And that's before you even get to Baxter, Charles and Santos' lengthy spells out. The disappointing second half of this season isn't Evatt's fault.

It’s about having strength in depth

portsmouth had 9 out for a period 4 being key players

Im not going into whether we play to his strengths or not, i dont claim to know what they are

I do know we signed him for decent money and one of the big attractions was his pressing

I dont know how its measured, i do know he rates very highly

And we were all but top of the league when the partnership was broken up

But, hes shit

Remember that

Tbh its irrelevant cos all you can do is deal with whats dealt but Portsmouth have not been hit as hard as us

Not a chance

Obviously, you may be right

I dont care tbh

Fact is we failed to deal with it

I think its hardly surprising

I think it’s a fair argument, that two clubs can be hit with the same amount of injuries, but one set of injuries effect one side the greater, because you’ve lost a higher quality and/or a bigger influence in your team.

I  don’t think it’s a case of you don’t want to accept it.

While it’s still an opinion, it’s more than valid to accept that;

Regan Poole, Joe Morrell, Terry Devlin, Tom McIntyre are nowhere near as important to Portsmouth as;

Our top scorer and at the time one of the best L1 strikers Charles

Our Captain and  top L1 defender Santos

Best midfielder in the league Sheehan

One of the best Keepers in the league Baxter.

Plus a whole host of other influential injuries/absentees; CMG, JDB, Vic, Jones

There’s no way your squad replacements can be at the same of level of quality/influence as those.
