Brand Evatt

We had a decent thread a while back discussing Evatt’s philosophies and approach to the game (think it got tainted and pulled)

So not a bad time to start it up again at the beginning of the season.

In the main he’s done a fantastic job. A minority lost patience round about Xmas/New Year in both seasons.

But surely now he has the large backing of the majority of fans and the brand he talked about implementing here is now well and truly established.

Good article above highlighting how he’s using Sport Science to get the squad performing to it’s optimum level.

A young, meticulous, intelligent and passionate individual, who we are very lucky to have leading our club.

I hope he gets what he deserves with promotion to the Championship.

All the analysis and data aside, I just don't get how the board can seriously be sat thinking anything else but that change needs to happen. And if they think that Evatt can be the one to change

Actually fuck that we’re having 2nd.

Not with 14 points to make up we’re not.

Big ask I know. 19 games left with 7 of the 8 above us to play.

Aye it's a big ask that. Humongous in fact.

We needed 1 defeat in 18 matches in 1993 to get runners up.

Agreed.  If they'd done the right thing and at least got rid after Wigan (how was there any doubt at all by then?), we'd be a lot closer than 14 points off 2nd.

Six pointers every one then.

Think we need 12 or 13 wins just to get playoffs, bloody tall order tbh.

I think that goes out of the window this season.

Plenty of teams around and about, and previous seasons may not reflect this.

Could be true of course, but we only have to get more points than 7th.

Do that, and be playing well, and who knows.

I can't be arsed spending the time working it out but it'd be interesting to know the points average from previous years for the play-offs at the stage of the season and see if there's any difference in comparison this season

I just attempted it on 11v11 league table generator but you can't see the points total on a singular screenshot.

So I've given up.

We just need to win more than those above us :)

And make inroads on our terrible goal difference

We don't really.

One more point than 7th.

Worry about GD later, when games start to run out.

Leagues tend to stack up in order of GD in the final reckoning

We need a couple of 4 nils to balance those defeats we have suffered

Think we once got in the playoffs with 69 pts, Neal era.

Played Notts County, 87 pts I think.

We got battered.

A new man would have to get the team playing better, and consistently, gaining more points.

Top two is pretty much gone, so just get in there, take some form in, and who knows.

Scapegoat number 1 found himself a job 😂.

Hope he doesn’t Craddock it up. I’ll be watching his corner routines at Waterford with interest

Good luck to Matt in his new job, he seemed to be unfairly treated here.

he leaves 6 on the half way line

Craddock was moved on in the aftermath of the Huddersfield defeat and the timing made it look like that was the reason.

It wasn’t. His loss of employment wasn’t related in anyway to the first team results, but due to an incident that took place (I believe during an international weekend)

I’m reluctant to say any more, but from what i know I think it was the right decision at the time.

he was caught destroying the table tennis equipment

If only. But apparently what goes on in Ibiza doesn’t always stay in Ibiza.

What did the analyst do? Were they in cahoots

Does this tie in with Coleman issues

The clamour on social media for Big Sam to replace Markham is really getting on my tits
