The Queen

Seems to have taken a turn for the worse.

She is 96.

  • RIP. Very sad.  Whether you're Royalist, anti-Royalist or somewhere in between.  For the vast majority of us, she's been our Queen for all our lives.  Feels strange that it's no longer the case.

  • She did this. And she probably didn’t have to because she was the Queen. But she did. What a woman.

See? The Daily Mail bullshit does find it's target

Watching the ITV coverage and they have folk talking bollocks whilst we watch the cortage wind its way through Scotchland.

They’re just not that good at keeping talking. Lots or meaningless vowel sounds whilst they think of the next bollocks about which to speak.

I’d prefer them to just have Elgar’s Enigma Variations - Nimrod to be playing instead of their inane witterings.

Are you suggesting she's not been discriminated against in the past?

Np doubt she may have been, people get discriminated in all walks of life though

You can use your position to improve things, she hasn't come across that way.

And her father.

And every newspaper, news outlet etc.

Some more discreetly than others.

Nonetheless the information regarding her behaviour is out there.

Whether you choose to accept it is up to you.

Can you give an example then?

Plenty out there, go have a read if you're that interested.

I've looked, and it's all nonsense. Can you post a good one?

I know. And it's all utter bollocks from what I've seen. Would like to see some strong evidence that she's the demon she's portrayed as, because a few of my close relatives have expressed hatred of her, and none of them can explain it rationally either.

I wonder what outdated views I will have when I’m nearly ready to prop some daisies up 🤔

Speaking of which, he gets a way easier ride from the press than Harry's bird does.

The Daily Mail and the Express have a weird fixation with her. It's not normal.

And people like @only1swanny repeat it as though it's gospel and she's some sort of demon trying to undermine the Royal family. It is very weird.

Whatever the merits, or lack thereof, of any press reports regarding her behaviour it seems pretty clear to me she has an ego the size of a planet.

I also think both Harry and Meghan publicly disclosing private and personal issues about their relationship with the Royal Family in interviews, in what I think is the knowledge they won't have a proper right to reply, is distasteful and manipulative.

Clearly, the Daily Mail and Piers Morgan have an obsession with her (the Daily Mail likely because it sells and patheticly in Piers Morgan's case likely because she rejected his advances) but I'm unconvinced all objections to her merely racism, petty vindictiveness, money-making opportunities, etc.

Can you post an example of something she's done that caused you to hold this opinion of her?

Heard an American commentator on CNN call Buck House, Buckingham Castle! 🙄

I think her comments in her interview with The Cult magazine regarding how a South African member of the crew of The Lion King production told her her marriage into the Royal Family had been received on the streets of South Africa are pretty indicative of a person with an uneccessarily high opinion of themself.

A self-aware person in her position would understand it was very likely untrue and take little credence from it, let alone offer it up in an interview as an example of how she thinks people see her.

Where's Dr David Starkey while this lot is going on? I like the Stark.

He's been on quite a bit recently.
