The Queen

Seems to have taken a turn for the worse.

She is 96.

  • RIP. Very sad.  Whether you're Royalist, anti-Royalist or somewhere in between.  For the vast majority of us, she's been our Queen for all our lives.  Feels strange that it's no longer the case.

  • She did this. And she probably didn’t have to because she was the Queen. But she did. What a woman.

Do you think Charley is sick of the national anthem being sung at him yet?  Twice already today.

He’s been waiting quite a while to hear it. I wonder if at one stage he may have wondered if he ever would.

Was going to pop in for the funeral but I think it might be a bit of a nightmare witht the crowds, in town tomorrow so I'll take a quick walk over the Green Park and then go in on Saturday with the kids to place some flowers.

we were thinking of going down for the funeral, but I agree, it'll be absolute chaos - think I'll just stay home and board my loft out instead 😶

Had organised a while back to meet a mate that evening, so I have brought the catch up forward to a late lunch. I’m planning to head in with the family.

Not even going to try to stand along the route (there will no doubt be people camping out) but I might see if they have a big screen in one of the parks (which will also be packed). If it’s raining,  I’ll probably sack it off.

Just caught some of the Edinburgh procession

The horse did a shit exactly where Prince Andrew had to walk.

Which I quite liked.

Some lad was just hurling abuse at the procession as it went past. Got yanked back into the crowd and I assume he's getting the twatting of a lifetime as I type

Brilliant response wasn't it.

Couldn't see who gripped him, but I hope he's Shamima's new neighbour in a couple of days.

What a total wanker.

Anyway, absolutely remarkable from all those in the procession. Superb to keep in step like this.

As for that lad, he was imply exercising his right to free speech. Hopefully the hands that grabbed him are exercising their right to rearrange his face the horrid cunt

Bit sad all that - whether folks agree or not being a Republican is a totally reasonable position and people should be free to demonstrate against any leader they want.

We've got a new PM and a new Head of State, and whilst not this simple, lots of people feel they haven't had a say in either.

Its a bit unhealthy to see people yanked away for not following the majority line. We're supposed to be stronger than that.

Think it's the same chap- now another video of him being pulled back and dragged away by the public and police.

Not just him, others been done too. You can be arrested for behaviour that might cause a breach of peace etc.

Quite right too- can't have any Tom, Dick or Harry being allowed to gob off at the most inopportune of moments, simply because they have a "right of free speech'.

Others have a right to go about their business without folk breaching/disturbing the peace- that's why laws exist.

Some basic event stewarding roles in Edinburgh next Monday £200 for 12 hours including free travel both ways, that bloke might have just put an extra 50p on the hourly rate.

You say inopportune, a staunch Rebublican might say it's the moment when other voices should be heard.

I'm not judging anyone here. I just think people being yanked away for shouting isn't a great look.

This person has been told to go into a form of mourning, perhaps he wanted to go about his business?

Other views are available tha knows.

All depending how long a "day" is for this gig

At what point do you reckon it becomes worth it? - up towards £500/£600 must become tempting I'd have thought

Between 10-13 hrs. Same thing happened with the COP26 in Glasgow. Started off at £250 a day then a few days before the gig started there were offers of over £500. Middle men must have been making a fortune.

Can well believe it, the £200 was for the basic no experience, no SIA, stand in one spot and walk away from trouble people.

Apparently only hurling abuse at Andrew for being a dirty nonce.

Doesn't sit well with me him being front and centre TBH.

Apparently someone got arrested for asking 'who elected him' at one of those local council proclamation job.

That's bollox if it's true.
