The Queen

Seems to have taken a turn for the worse.

She is 96.

  • RIP. Very sad.  Whether you're Royalist, anti-Royalist or somewhere in between.  For the vast majority of us, she's been our Queen for all our lives.  Feels strange that it's no longer the case.

  • She did this. And she probably didn’t have to because she was the Queen. But she did. What a woman.

Longer version. My Lad is there. Last minute change of plan after Cheltenham was called off. Said it was very special. Something he’ll never forget.

I'm finding all the ceremonial and constitutional stuff being played out fascinating.  Hundreds of years of history being played out before our eyes. Our very own Game Of Thrones.

That is brilliant.

Just read the Queen had been alive for every football World Cup, I find incredible when you out stuff in relatable measures like that.

My thoughts exactly.

It's almost as though they can trust the posh lads but the scummy football supporters can't be trusted to behave.

Liverpool would have played Wolves at Anfield today. Minutes silence……….😳😳

My neighbours mum is 100 this weekend

Curious to see if she gets a pre prepared telegram from the queen, or, be one of the first (if not the first) to get one from the king

Next weekend will be the time to do it.

We know we’ll all do it right.

Get a birthday or anniversary message from the Queen

You currently cannot apply for a birthday or anniversary message.

If you’ve already applied, your application will not be processed until operations resume. You’ll be told when a message has been arranged.

I’ve told you about scousers.

Not worth our time

As for t’queen, well it’s all been said.

I do understand why folk don’t “get” the monarchy, and it’s not without merit.

But she was an absolute one off. And we’re a better country for having had her by our side. On that, I’ll fucking argue with anyone. And I’ll win, too.

Scousers are frankly weird with their whole wool thing. Most are decent folk but they do seem generally to be anti establishment, more so Tory Government than anything but also anti monarchy.

Only time the fuckers won't want a minutes silence.

A tale as old as time.

Seemingly, yes.

Looking on the Red and White Kop forum some of the hypocrisy is staggering. "Colonial legacy this" and "empire" that, with many suggesting the living (and recently dead) should be accountable for the sins of their fathers, and that their anti-monarchy stance stands proudly shoulder to shoulder with their detestation of the establishment and racism. Which is odd, considering Liverpool was the hub of the slave trade for at least the 60 odd years from 1750. If you look at sources, some 1.5M slaves were captured or transported via Mersey ships, and for a large part of that time one in eight of the city's population were employed by the process one way or another. So someone with a (not ridiculously long) scouse heritage likely has blood on their ancestor's hands. Do not those sins wash down the river of time, and lap the shores of the present day, as well? Or for some reason is their responsibility chucked overboard like a dead slave? Can't have it both ways.

Well said Satan.

As for the games; we'll pay our respects at the next game. Those that don't will still make an example of themselves.

Not sure how much of a difference it makes whether that's tomorrow or next week.

Not. Having. It

It’s about time radio stations started playing some up lifting tunes… are they trying to increase the suicide rate figures.
