The Queen

Seems to have taken a turn for the worse.

She is 96.

  • RIP. Very sad.  Whether you're Royalist, anti-Royalist or somewhere in between.  For the vast majority of us, she's been our Queen for all our lives.  Feels strange that it's no longer the case.

  • She did this. And she probably didn’t have to because she was the Queen. But she did. What a woman.

all sport set to be postponed?

To be honest, it’s just reminding me of my mum all this. She adored Liz, queued for hours to see her years ago, wouldn’t hear a bad word.

Both magnificent women.

Hopefully, it fills your head with happy memories.

My bets for tonight's racing all just been void. Postponed card after 2 races

RIP

Quite liked Liz and big Phil was always a laugh. The rest of her off spring can get into the sea though

Bereavement is a flowing tide, its ok to feel this loss, you won't be alone today.

Thoughts are with you, pal.

No matter what you think of the Royal family. She was dedicated to her role and worked bloody hard. Now back with her love 😢

Selfishly, and it is massively selfishly, but we've just wasted nearly 10k of media for a client and we can't get it back because of in charge dates. There will be nothing doing for at least a fortnight.

Hope they understand!

Have you been watching "Learn Roman Numerals with Nadine Dorries"?

You missed my joke about her being ill but never mind. (So did Crawley)

Each to their own mate, but under the circumstances would you remove that, so we can pay respects etc without seeing such bile?

Leave the haters to their thing, etc.

I actually agree, perhaps for once we don't need this (or silly bickering)

To be fair, the replies to her left wing vile should be there for all to see.

Goodnight and God bless Ma'am .

Now, now just because you are left of centre, let's not turn this to sniping. As someone just said..

We have lost not just our monarch but the matriarch of our nation, the figure who more than any other brought our country together, kept us in touch with our better nature, personified everything which makes us proud to be British.”

That rainbow over Buckingham Palace is just extraordinary timing

Sad day excellent servant to our Country RIP

King Charles III statement.

The DCMS have just sent this for theatres tonight.

DCMS have confirmed that performances should go ahead tonight as planned.

We would ask all theatres open this evening to dim their lights for 2 minutes between now and the start of their performance.

We would ask that a company member or stage/company manager addresses the audience (from in front of tabs/frontcloth where practicable) at the beginning of the show wearing sombre clothing or a formal suit with a black tie:

It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth earlier today. We would like to convey our deepest sympathy to the Royal Family at this time of national mourning.

In accordance with the wishes of the Royal household, this evening’s performance will continue.

we ask that you join us in two minutes of silence as a mark of respect.

[2 Minutes silence]

[National anthem plays if available]

We will now continue with this evening’s performance.

Long Live the King

Yeah, RET's performance of Glass Menagerie goes ahead tonight and there's a company meeting in the morning.

They're there if we want to find them.

Just rather leave this thread clean and free of vermin.

Maybe open another discussion thread for such reading, if folk want to.

I believe all west end venues are following, my Mrs is at Richmond for a press night, they are trying to do this now.

This a photo of me and the Queen in Walkden, 1968. She’s in the car and I’m on the right.

GSTK.
