Lucy Connolly's appeal fails just as our Tommeh gets his sentence reduced.  That'll confuse the two tier Kier crowd.

Not really confusing at all.

Both were locked up for breaking different laws.

One had their sentence reduced, one not.

Her request for an appeal was based on her mental state at the time, and has been rejected.

Does seem a heavy sentence, though other "offences" were also considered at the time. Whether in time, that is looked at unfavourably, we don't know.

Nothing difficult about all that.

I'm glad you agree. Much of my twitter feed had the likes of Lawrence Fox and other simpletons complaining to 'two tier Kier' as if he had a personal hand in the Connolly sentencing. Oddly, they didn't refer to Tommeh's reduction and contrition. KS must have kept his nose out of that one.

Not sure anyone of us have any real depth of understanding of this decision which at first glance looks very strange but the fact that the vest majority of our traditional allies are in agreement implies it is not the absolute treachery that some are saying it is.
