He’s mental and thinks watching a Steven Schumacher football team is worth the money.

Right, the old gipper didn't break a nose therefore shouldn't be arrested.

Neither did Lucy Connelly, nor indeed the Councillor.

Age isn't and shouldn't be a defining factor as to whether someone is arrested.

Neither should an individual's perception of what should or shouldn't be a crime.

Whether that arrest subsequently leads to prosecution is a different matter- CPS have to decide whether it is in the public interest etc.

The legal profession also have a duty to ensure fairness and equality throughout.

Laws can be altered, scrapped or made anew according to the politics/society of the day, and people can lobby for that.

A question I've raised before: what are these  people actually demonstrating over?

The war in Gaza or the proscribed group?

The first is easy to do and won't result in action.

The second is an organisation that has repeatedly attacked British companies and military establishments.

I'd suggest a good number are misguided, and ought to know better.

I never suggested that age was a defining factor for arrest. You’ve just jumped to that conclusion.

I was simply saying they weren’t violent lefties like Miami suggested.

Here’s an explanation I thought was interesting.

Stella Creasy, the Labour MP for Walthamstow, brought the issue to Parliament as an urgent question, warning "the seriousness of the term terrorism risks losing its meaning, becoming diluted rather than strengthened".

"Proscription was supposed to be about stopping those inciting direct harm and violence," she said.

"Going after somebody with a poster, testing the boundaries of liberty, many of whom are clear they don't support Palestine Action but feel strongly about Palestinian rights or free speech, confuses rather than clarifies the government's intention."

I can see both sides to it to be honest. Those who attacked the RAF base should be locked away for a significant stretch. But to put the group in the same category as the likes of ISIS is bonkers for me.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a U-turn

He had only booked day before so had paid over £100 for his train ticket but said it was worth it and had had a great day. Could not really explain ‘why’ but it was not a formal interview and I was not constantly asking or trying demand an answer, just 2 blokes chatting. But his main point was that the political parties do not seem interested in him or his life. He was a Scunthorpe fan from near Grimsby, had travelled on his own as he did not want to get dragged into any ‘silly business’. Just seem disillusioned with things and looking for someone who at least pretends to give a shit.

We got on fine, even gave him a couple of our beers, then after talking about being a Scunny fan he told us his ‘second team’ is Man Utd.

What a complete and utter cunt.

So good 😂

You now know who put the cunt in Scunthorpe.

Was his name Phil by any chance? Used to work with a bloke from there who had the rags has his "second team" and would get involved in pointless sideshows.

Sounds a good chat……and I reckon this guy’s feelings and reasons for being there were those of the vast majority.  Not racist, not bigoted, not thick, just disillusioned that no party has his & his families interests at heart.  Can’t blame him. And this is why Reform appeal.  Something different and saying the right things.  Of course I don’t think Farage and his ilk will fix this guys problems.   They may say they will but they don’t know how to run a bath let alone a country. They’ll make it worse.  I get so mad with the “main” political parties.  Why the hell is it so difficult to look after people.  Provide access to good education, health and jobs. Safe streets to walk down.  Affordable housing.  Hope. I reckon most/all of us on here want exactly the same things. Let’s have a RW/LW coalition.

He was not a massive Farage fan but think that was because TR does not like him

Royal and London? They'd be too busy bickering to get anything done!

Proper Politicians then

I looked at that picture of folk on Westminster Bridge and thought that looks like fucking loads, easy 110k

Then cos I'm a sad arse and it's raining and between horse races I did some calculations.

Westminster Bridge is 252m long and 26m wide

I'm cramming folk in and assuming 4 per square metre.

So 252 x 26 x 4 = 26,208.

I'm not sure why folk need to pretend there wasn't shit loads there.

It was monumental. Some of the drone footage is astonishing. It should send vibrations across Europe.

I'm just curious and bored. As explained

I'm from fucking Mars if there was 3 million there though. That's clearly balls

I wasn't having a pop at you My friend.

And I was just about to follow up with I'm not sure why we need to pretend there were 3 million there either :D

This is 125,000 for reference sakes.(Oasis@Knebworth)

What would happen if the MSM said there was 1m there

Would the guesstimates rise accordingly?

Top one is 30k tops

I'm not getting into the rights or wrongs of yesterday. But anybody who thinks there was anything close to a million+ there needs their bumps feeling.

That's 1 in every 67 people.

Decent turn out for sure - but looked more like Wembley Way on cup final day to me.

The only way the boats will stop is when they are turned back. I just hope there isn't a 4 years + wait for it to start.

The only way they stop, is when we make it far, far less an attractive option to come here. Until that changes, they keep coming, no matter how many boats we have patrolling the channel.

Bloke on the radio the other day (claiming to be from Border Force) said that as its such a small body of water, it's nearly impossible to detect these boats, as they are so small, they can hide in the wake of larger vessels, of which there are many. He says the quirk is that is the crossing was far bigger, it wouldbe much easier to spot them and turn them back. The fact it's such a tiny and busy stretch of water, is what actually makes it so difficult to police. This caller rang in, as a result to one of those dicks who thinks it must be easy, because Australia managed to turn back some boats. He may be wrong, I honestly wouldn't know, but it does sound plausible

Such a short crossing too, by the time you've scrambled someone to stop them they've long gone.
